Lawyer who advised President Trump on Saturday call resigns from law firm

Cleta Mitchell, the conservative lawyer that can be heard interjecting in the now infamous call between President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, resigned from her role as partner at the Washington office of law firm Foley & Lardner on Tuesday, the Washington Post reports.

Mitchell, who advised Trump during his Saturday phone call with Raffensperger in an effort to overturn the presidential election, could be heard multiple times during the call helping the president as he made baseless claims regarding the election and demanding that the secretary of state release election data.

“So what are we going to do here, folks?” Trump asked Raffensperger and his aides during an hour-long telephone conversation on Saturday. “I only need 11,000 votes. Fellas, I need 11,000 votes. Give me a break.”

The 70-year-old litigator’s resignation came after her law firm on Monday issued a statement saying it was “concerned by” her participation in the call, according to the Washington Post. The firm noted that as a matter of policy, its attorneys do not represent “any parties seeking to contest the results of the election.”

Baseless claims, according to the gaslight media. Know who your enemies are.

They’re the gaslight media, and their function is to gaslight the general public into believing falsehoods. They are lying, they know it, but they’re doing it anyway out of some allegiance to some higher calling, e.g. Soros money or because they are communist sympathizers or something else like that.

Trump should have let the council interrogate Raffensperger point by point. Trump made his case early in the call and just kept repeating it. Raffensperger needed to be forced to provide detailed arguments for each concern raised. He got off relatively easy.

"as he made baseless claims"

They all got the same memo regarding the phrase "baseless claims." It's repeated in every fake news story abut the fraud that oozes out of the orifices of the MSM every day.

DC is Federal jurisdiction, right? So if Trump invites Biden and Harris to a meeting and has them shot, he can pardon himself and anyone involved, correct?

The firm noted that as a matter of policy, its attorneys do not represent “any parties seeking to contest the results of the election.”

And this is part of what the campaign is up against.

The AJC’s liberal moderation died when Ralph McGill left it. At least he was a pretty honest lib.

Now it is known as the Atlanta Journal Against the Constitution.

#15. Re “what’s with this steady drumbeat of “baseless claims” and “hearsay” and “wild conspiracy theories” from the left?”

Standard Marxist smear tactics from Marx/Lenin/Stalin and Gramsci to Saul Alinsky, Hillary’s favorite Marxist and one of Obama’s favorite Marxist tacticians.

George Orwell, in both “1984” and “Animal Farm”, tried to warn the world/West about the deceitful, psychopathic lying tactics of Marxism/communism but few would listen.

Now the reds are winning and a few on the Left have finally woken up, but too late to save them and possibly America.

The AJC went far-Left years ago and never regained its once highly regarded middle liberalism stance. The Wash. Post long ago went “red” esp. during the communist revolution against the Somoza government (just read anything about the Sandinistas by Karen DeYoung, the WP’s present foreign editor and you’ll know what I’m talking about. The same for some of the communist propaganda Drew Pearson and Jack Anderson used to publish for decades).

the NY Times has always been infiltrated by the reds, only this time it hired black racist extremists, insane anti-Trump and anti-America hack editorial writers, and featured hardcore communists/Marxists as columnists over the decades, esp. the Op-Ed pieces by Australian Communist/KGB agent Wilfred Burchett, pieces by Hanoi’s top friend, Tom Hayden, genocide denier for S Vietnam and Cambodia, Gary Porter and his Cornell “Hanoi Lobby” group, and the far-leftist Anthony Lewis who functioned as a de facto propaganda mouthpiece for Hanoi during the war.

The reds have literally won the war of infiltration and propaganda among the leading liberal/leftist newspapers in the US and in the audio/visual media of TV, Cable, etc.

I’ve been a journalist for over 50 years and I’ve never seen the Marxist influence so strong in our society, esp. their penetration of our educational system/schools (I worked on an investigation for my local congressman on this issue re the communist SWP’s takeover of the Washington Teachers’ Union back in the 70’s).

Our kids learn to “hate” America, instead of love and appreciate what we have. Conservatives didn’t teach this to them.

And now you know the whole truth!

Cleta Mitchell is a great American patriot, and like the Founding fathers who formed regiments, she may die fighting and never see the fruits of her sacrifice to water the liberty Tree.

I envy her position yet feel dread as well
