t's one of the most elegant and environmentally responsible ways to prepare your morning cup of coffee, but if you're regularly using a French press, you could be doing serious damage to your body in the long run, according to a study published in The European Journal of Preventive Cardiology.
"Unfiltered coffee contains substances which increase blood cholesterol," explains study author Dag Thelle, a senior professor in the public health and community medicine department of the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. "Using a filter removes these and makes heart attacks and premature death less likely."

My grandmother was a Swedish immigrant who, with her fellow Swedes, worked for wealthy German and Jewish folks. Whenever they brewed a big pot of coffee for guests, an egg was was broken into the percolator basket to make the coffee less bitter, a bit mellower.

Intermittent fasting has big benefits in regulating blood sugar. When I began that regimen my borderline diabetic status with high H1C disappeared. High levels of sugar in blood can damage retina, capillaries, kidneys, and muscle cells. I try to eat only 2 large meals in a day and avoid snacking in between.

I think the Italians nailed coffee, you grind the bean you like very fine and pack it tight then send super heated steam through it and use a pump to drive out every delicious drop.
