Gov. Northam says decision to revisit a gun ban in 2021 would be 'up to the discretion of the legislature'

Virginia Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam and other state Democratic lawmakers have appeared to slow their efforts to ban assault weapons in the state.

Virginia's Democrat-controlled Senate last January rejected Northam's bill to ban assault weapons, including some semiautomatic rifles, and voted to take up the matter again in a year.

Nearly one year later, Northam, whose term expires in 2022, told WRIC on Monday that he'll leave the decision to revisit a gun ban "up to the discretion of the legislature."

"Whatever they do, I’ll be supportive of," Northam said.

The Virginia GOP is too busy crushing the grassroots to be bothered with crushing the dems. The State Central Committee is now controlled by the Cantor crowd and the rest of the establishment. Kirk Cox seems to be the front runner at the moment which is a sure recipe for losing across the board.

Northam is still the nominal governor because he promised the dems to do their bidding no matter what after the yearbook scandal. No doubt there was a deal. All the dems were calling for his head until they cooked up a deal. I don’t think he’s vetoed a single bill that’s landed on his desk.

He’s pretending to manage the pandemic response because he is supposedly a doctor. His response has been horrible and people are dead because of his incompetence. The dem minions swoon over his diploma as if that makes him competent.

I am looking forward to his last day in office.

If we want to be effective at protecting our Second Amendment rights in such states, we need to remember that gun control is an elitist move. There will always be loopholes for us square (drug free, miserly) Republicans to keep whatever weapons we like. ;)

That’s one way that we might get just enough Democrat voters to oppose gun control laws. Make sure that the population is saturated with that particular message long before and during elections. Do you see?

It ties in with the fact that Democrat politicians are really working for global oligarchs, who pay them to shut down our freedoms before enslaving us with lower pay and fewer jobs.
