Mike Pence will skip the country as soon as he formally confirms Joe Biden's victory on January 6 with week-long foreign tour to avoid face-to-face confrontation with Donald Trump and angry supporters

Mike Pence will skip the country as soon as he formally confirms Joe Biden's victory on January 6 with week-long foreign tour to avoid face-to-face confrontation with Donald Trump and angry supporters.

Vice President Mike Pence is expected to leave the country on a week-long world tour, directly after he formally confirms President-elect Joe Biden's victory on the House floor on January 6.

Politico reported Thursday that Pence is eyeing a trip abroad that week that would take him to Bahrain, Israel and Poland, though the trip hasn't been officially confirmed.

'I suspect the timing is anything but coincidental,' a Pence ally told the newsite.

Pence, who as vice president is also president of the Senate, will be put in the awkward position of presiding over a January 6 session of the House of Representatives where the Electoral College vote tallies are confirmed.

Republicans could delay the final sign-off if one member of the House and one member of the Senate challenges any of the state's results.

Then members of the House and Senate will go back to their respective chambers and debate the challenge, but only a majority vote is needed to overrule any objection.

So while GOP lawmakers could delay the inevitable, Pence will eventually have to announce Biden's win.

That could lead President Donald Trump to unleashing on Pence, as he has Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who has been a top ally to the president during his nearly four years in office, but congratulated Biden for winning the White House Tuesday on the Senate floor.

The problem is the alternate set of electors aren’t certified by the SOS of the states they come from so they’re pretty much worthless, Pence will eventually confirm Biden’s win, I don’t like it but that’s how it is!

Pence is not our friend.

He was a calculation, and he has mostly been superficially in accord with the Trump agenda.

Thank you. If you have a source, please provide.

Your statement agrees with Matt Sealy in Michigan who made a fine presentation on how President Trump will hold on to the White House.

Let’s clarify a little more on objections to Electors:

An objection is filed in writing by at least one member of the House.

An objection is filed in writing by at least one member of the Senate.

The Presiding Senate President, VP Pence, calls a two hour break for deliberations on the written objections.

The House returns and votes.
The Senate returns and votes.

It is expected the House led by Pelosi will vote to dismiss the objections.

The Senate led by McConnell may vote to affirm the objections. Senate President Pence may vote to break any tie.

For purposes of this example, the House votes to dismiss objections and the Senate votes to affirm objections.

The House and Senate votes leave the selection of Electors unresolved.

Amendment 12 is invoked to throw the election into the House of Representatives where a majority of 50 state delegations determine who will be the President.

There are 30 Republican state delegations in the House of Representatives.

Guys, as a side note, please stock up on basic necessities for a month.

Another month on top of what I already have?

I suspect a month is not going to be enough. Aside from the fact that it’s winter and we just got slammed with 40” of reason why one should be well prepped for the weather, I do not trust the political climate in the least, and if Biden does get inaugurated and implements his 100 day mask/lock down mandate, people are going to need more that one month’s worth of supplies.

FWIW, this is a great time of year to stock up, especially on basics. There are always a lot of good food sales around the holidays. This is the time to be taking advantage of those sales and the good supplies in the stores.

You’re absolutely right. I practiced election law for 25 years and am married to a practicing election law attorney that represents the RNC. It’s astonishing how little people know and what bizarre fantasy worlds they live in. I think even a first year law student can figure out there’s not going to be martial law, the election won’t be overturned, Joe Biden will be the next president and there’s no such thing as “alternate” electors that aren’t certified and their votes won’t be counted anywhere and Trump will be gone in 34 days. I guess when you have crackpot lawyers like Giuliani, Ellis and Powell , you can’t expect confidence but I know for a fact their filing have given courthouses around the country a lot of good laughs, their incompetence is astonishing !

3 U.S. Code § 15: "Upon such reading of any such certificate or paper, the President of the Senate shall call for objections, if any. Every objection shall be made in writing, and shall state clearly and concisely, and without argument, the ground thereof, and shall be signed by at least one Senator and one Member of the House of Representatives before the same shall be received. When all objections so made to any vote or paper from a State shall have been received and read, the Senate shall thereupon withdraw, and such objections shall be submitted to the Senate for its decision; and the Speaker of the House of Representatives shall, in like manner, submit such objections to the House of Representatives for its decision; and no electoral vote or votes from any State which shall have been regularly given by electors whose appointment has been lawfully certified to according to section 6 of this title from which but one return has been received shall be rejected, but the two Houses concurrently may reject the vote or votes when they agree that such vote or votes have not been so regularly given by electors whose appointment has been so certified. If more than one return or paper purporting to be a return from a State shall have been received by the President of the Senate, those votes, and those only, shall be counted which shall have been regularly given by the electors who are shown by the determination mentioned in section 5 of this title to have been appointed, if the determination in said section provided for shall have been made, or by such successors or substitutes, in case of a vacancy in the board of electors so ascertained, as have been appointed to fill such vacancy in the mode provided by the laws of the State; but in case there shall arise the question which of two or more of such State authorities determining what electors have been appointed, as mentioned in section 5 of this title, is the lawful tribunal of such State, the votes regularly given of those electors, and those only, of such State shall be counted whose title as electors the two Houses, acting separately, shall concurrently decide is supported by the decision of such State so authorized by its law; and in such case of more than one return or paper purporting to be a return from a State, if there shall have been no such determination of the question in the State aforesaid, then those votes, and those only, shall be counted which the two Houses shall concurrently decide were cast by lawful electors appointed in accordance with the laws of the State, unless the two Houses, acting separately, shall concurrently decide such votes not to be the lawful votes of the legally appointed electors of such State. But if the two Houses shall disagree in respect of the counting of such votes, then, and in that case, the votes of the electors whose appointment shall have been certified by the executive of the State, under the seal thereof, shall be counted. When the two Houses have voted, they shall immediately again meet, and the presiding officer shall then announce the decision of the questions submitted. No votes or papers from any other State shall be acted upon until the objections previously made to the votes or papers from any State shall have been finally disposed of."

Wasn't Michael Jackson one of your faves in High School?

Oh brother and there are people like you that are completely living in a fantasy world. Trump has lost and Biden will be sworn in. You handle fraud before the election and not after the election. It's too late once the votes are counted. Trump's campaign was his responsibility and not Pence's. If Pence counts the electors on Jan 6 as anticipated, its not his fault Trump lost.

People like you spend most of their lives bitching and moaning about everything and how it is always someone else's fault. Let's face it: we now know Q is a fraud and Trump was always just a speed bump for either 4 years or 8 years. We now know it's 4 years. Trump accomplished incredible things but since many were only EOs, they will vanish just as quick. I know it's hard but buck up and live to fight another day.

Yes they vote separately. The important part is they would be able to present evidence.

They had me until:

"Vice President Mike Pence is expected to leave the country on a week-long world tour after he formally confirms President-elect Joe Biden won the election"

Then I couldn't read because I was laughing so hard.
