The FDA on Tuesday approved the first over-the-counter COVID-19 test involving a nasal swab — and near-instant results.

“By authorizing a test for over-the-counter use, the FDA allows it to be sold in places like drug stores, where a patient can buy it, swab their nose, run the test and find out their results in as little as 20 minutes,’’ said Stephen Hahn, commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, in a statement on the agency’s website.

I am not a Karen but if Hawaii accepts it, I will absolutely get it. I hope it’s in stores by April. I changed my flight to Hawaii from Dec to April because Hawaii requires a negative test 72 hours before the flight and no testing center around me can guarantee that quick a turnaround.

Perhaps Hawaii will accept proof of vaccination instead; perhaps that will be available for the general public by April (doubtful I know).

Hopefully the vaccine is more reliable than the testing.

I’m going to hold out for as long as possible in getting the vaccine. I have a super strong immune system, almost never get sick. I don’t want to inject something into my body that might change my body.

But considering the incredible risk of not taking the vaccine, with people dropping like flies all around media, I mean me...perhaps I should do it for the good of the USSR, I mean USA.

Why is this near-instant result test even news? We already have tests that have results before the test is given.
