So, is it over?

———————

No. January 6 is when the electoral college results are delivered to Congress. There may be one or two objections. But in the end vice President Pence will declare Joe Biden officially the winner. Then it’s over.

RE: But in the end vice President Pence will declare Joe Biden officially the winner. Then it’s over.

And what reason would there be for Pence NOT to declare Joe Biden the winner? If it’s all just a formality in January 6, then it’s for all practical purposes over today isn’t it?

Not true, six contested states with competing electors. This has happened before. Biden has not won and indeed does not have 270 electoral votes.

RE: No

OK, not the President, but the President-Elect?

If not, maybe you can explain to this poor, ignorant soul what chance Trump still has of being elected given this news.

Interesting. It could very well be that vice President Pence saves the future of this country. He may very well be the one to deny and reject, whether legally or not, the EC votes that were based on fraudulent software results. Do you think Mike Pence has the guts and the courage to stand up to this evil election fraud?

Me neither. He’s a nice guy, but.....

Just a formality. It’s over. Start getting ready for 2022.

The Electoral Count Act (ECA) of 1887 says each chamber of Congress will separately decide which slate of ‘dueling electors’ to accept.

The House, being majority Democrat, will accept the slate of electors that voted in the Electoral College today. The Senate, with only a two seat majority over the Democrats, will vote for the slate of electors that voted in the Electoral College today as well with Romney, Sasse, Collins, and Murkowski being at least four of the votes.

Yes, it’s probably over today. Unless Mike Pence does the unthinkable and refuses to accept the EC results. If that were to happen, then Congress would decide.

And even if that happens, it would be better then the results are now. Why? Because the House would choose the president and the Senate would choose the vice president.

Although as I say this, there’s no definite conclusion that the Senate, able to choose a conservative as VP, wouldn’t go ahead and appoint Harris.

"So, it’s official then, Joe Biden is the President?"

Officially he'll be elected President when the Congress counts the electoral votes. But they'll be counting the votes that were cast today. On Jan. 20, Joe Biden will be sworn in as the next President, yes.

Each state gets one vote in the House for this purpose. Republicans own the majority of states. But it's never going to get that far.

Nothing Prevents Pence from REFUSING to Count any States Votes if there is still a Controversy over the Vote, and it looks like all these 5 States will still have them on January 6 2021.

Nothing except the law. All Pence does is announce the vote sent by the electors of each state. He doesn't accept or deny any vote. Any challenges are handled by the House and Senate.

Please. These states are contested only in some bizarre fantasy world.

I swear, this place is starting to look like all the crying Hillary voters that we laughed at four years ago.

No, that's only in cases where no candidate gets an absolute majority of the electoral votes. See the 12th Amendment. In the event that one senator and one congressman challenge the results from any state then the House and Senate vote as individuals, and both Houses must vote to approve the challenge.

They are not competing electors. They have been certified by no one. What is the point of the pretense?
