No. It’s actually quite clear. You don’t get the thing the vaccine is against even when exposed. Jabbed by a rusty nail? Oh but you’re up to date on your vaccines, so you DON’T GET tetanus. Hang out with the wrong folks and get exposed to all three parts of MMR, but lucky you, you vaccined up, so you get neither M nor the R. It’s a pretty straightforward concept, unless you’re trying desperately to make a strawman, and failing.
You are mistaken. That is double-talk. The proteins that wrap around antigens are antibodies — it is precisely a proper immune response. Saying it isn’t a true vaccine is sophistry.
The mRNA causes cells to produce some parts (antigenic proteins of the virus capsule) of the virus, a noninfectious subset. These are produced (translated, folded, transported) the same way an infection with a virus would cause them to be produced.
These antigenic proteins then generate an immune response, which is effective against the virus just as thevirus would, against only the matching shapes and charge configuration of that protein.
I would agree with you about the risk of a vaccine causing autoimmine diseases if the vaccine includes adjuvants which to increase the propensity of the immune system to recognise any protein as non-self. Adjuvants arguably do “too good” a job and cause the immune system to mistake some random tissue type as non-self. But adjuvants arent used with these mRNA vaccines, they are used with many conventional vaccines.
Often, adjuvants are used to make vaccine manufacturing cheaper, by stretching the expensive antigenic protein. In at least the Moderna covid vaccine, your cells produce plenty of antigenic protein. Each mRNA molecule is translated many times to protein molecules before it degrades over a few days. It does not use adjuvants.
If it is so clear it should have been easy to define “get the thing” but you still didn’t. What is the closest one could come to “getting it” without actually getting it?
Comparing it to something else....What (precisely) does it mean to “get MRSA”? How does one go about “getting MRSA”?
For example...”getting cancer” means that some of your cells have become unhealthy and are reproducing out of control.
How do you extrapolate this to COVID-19?

Which of these are definitions of “getting COVID” in your mind and that you also think is likely enough to happen to you that it is a good idea to take a vaccine with several severe KNOWN side effects and an UNKNOWN number of other side effects?
