Coronavirus Shutdowns to Bring ‘Total Restaurant Apocalypse’ to SF Bay Area
Breitbart ^ | 12/08/2020 | Joel B Pollak

The San Francisco Chronicle is predicting a “total restaurant apocalypse” in the San Francisco Bay Area as a result of the region’s new coronavirus shutdown orders, forcing thousands of business to close and lay off employees in the near future.

The San Francisco region will be under stay-at-home orders for several weeks, into the new year. Much of the rest of California is also under stay-at-home orders by Gov. Gavin Newsom, though — for now — those orders will expire by year’s end.

Right.
I was there about 1992 and hit an Italian restaurant there, had this Calzone that was TO DIE FOR! And it was just a no-name place by the side of the road...

SF. Beautiful place, excellent food... gone to hell.
Sad.

What good is “power” if you can’t flaunt it in the face of the people who you perceive to be peasants?
I agree there will be some breaking point ..where people are absolutely fed up with sham “leaders”
Obviously having a 8 years of oppressive stagnant obama wasn’t the breaking point.
The bugging Team Trump... fake dossier ..fake impeachment Half of America must think all of that is okay..because Trump was a big meanie?

“And the sad part is... no matter the disastrous results of the policies of the dems who rule that state, they still get reelected by massive numbers. It’s all about the (D), and NOTHING else.“

In light of everything that has came out about the current election, which is more plausible?

That CA citizens keep voting for these dimwits, or is it more likely that the steal has been in for quite some time in CA?

Come to CA, visit all the normal folk outside SF and LA, and get back to us.

“My God, what have we done to this jewel, America?”

There is a pattern where an area attracts jobs, accumulates wealth, than accumulates so much wealth that spending is no longer scrutinized. Parasite populations are trafficked in, and they vote - and the death spiral begins.

all absolutely great - spent $21.

Great food doesn't have to be expensive. Although fresh fish and good beef aren't cheap.

I used to go to the Bay Area frequently on business; it was always a pleasure flying into SFO Airport and taking the BART to downtown, seeing the hills, the blue sky, water and amazing natural setting. Last time was about 3-4 years ago and I won’t return unless I have to. Got out of BART at one of the business district main stations; the entire station stank of urine and there were bums everywhere inside it. I had to cross an interior tunnel to get to the other side to exit and there must have been 50 bums sitting upright against the wall, threatening, panhandling, with their feet stuck out in front of them so it was easy to trip. I couldn’t wait to get out of the place because of that and the pervasive stench.

That restaurant owner in Staten Island this last week ran into a cop he was so angry after they closed his restaurant down multiple times.

It won't be long before these democRATic governors push the envelope too far on these shutdowns and someone will snap and start shooting.

Who can blame them? You don't arbitrarily take someone's livelihood away from them by force. We live in a free country.

Or at least we used to....

The Left is also destroying New York, which also offered good food and beautiful sights such as the Statue of Liberty and views from the Empire State Building. They want to live in nice places, but then they end up destroying them.

These policies are especially crushing the middle class in areas where they were already struggling; much of NYC has already expelled the middle class.

The middle class is the enemy of totalitarianism (the upper class its drivers and the lower class its useful dupes); while we can’t line the middle class up against a wall and execute them, our elites can (and will) ruin them.

I know California; I was born and raised in the Bay Area and lived as a teen in the North State, my family still lives there, and I visit annually. I was referring to the liberals who infested and destroyed SF, in response to the initial comment. The North State is a completely different region, comprised of hardy Americans who despise the sh*t that occurs daily south of Yolo County. So... consider yourself gotten back to.

I agree.

Historically, totalitarian regimes have murdered or exterminated millions of people to get rid of dissidents. What was left were people they could control.

Like you said, here they are destroying their lives instead of just shooting them. It accomplishes the same results.

Agreed that there are different rules for the elites.

Every citizen needs to become their own journalist and quietly follow the elites around—and snap a cell phone picture and post on-line when the elites get caught breaking the rules for the plebes.

To avoid the censors, the headline should be “A Great Day for Progressives”!

Yeah. Next year (if Biden prevails and we lose two Georgia senate seats) they will get billions in bailouts. Of course they’ll put it towards their pension disaster.

Look for a series of underground Restaurants to open. These establishments will become known as “Eateasys.”

The number of speciality food trucks around is increasing rapidly. There are one or more in the parking lot at the big box where we get our groceries every time we're there. Began in June and been consistent since. I'm sure people adrift amid shutdown of restaurants. Most have excellent food.
