The Drudge Report has become a conformist shadow of its formerly bratty, oppositional self. Why?
It was the kind of story that would once have had Matt Drudge deploying font sizes that newspapers used to reserve for declarations of war. On Oct. 14, Twitter and Facebook blocked users from spreading a New York Post article alleging that Hunter Biden had brokered meetings between his father, then the vice president of the United States, and executives at a Ukrainian energy firm where the younger Biden held an $80,000-a-month sinecure. The Post’s article included photos of what appeared to be an exhausted and intoxicated-looking Biden in various states of undress.
Yet the controversy over tech companies restricting the spread of a story unflattering to the Democratic presidential contender was nowhere to be seen in the upper half of The Drudge Report—once the most coveted and agenda-setting real estate in right-of-center media. “RECORD TURNOUT ALARMS REPUBLICANS... BIDEN +7 GA,” screamed the top headlines on Oct. 15.
“People have noticed that Drudge has basically become a liberal site over the past two years,” a senior figure in conservative media told me that week.
“Liberal” might be a stretch, but it’s hard to argue with the claim that The Drudge Report has changed over the past few years. At the very least, it became an anti-Trump site. “YOU’RE FIRED!,” the top story on Drudge read on Nov. 7 when Joe Biden’s Electoral College win was first projected, appearing above a full page of links celebrating the former vice president’s victory—Drudge screenshotted the headline in a rare tweet that same day. During the campaign, the site had touted any and all bad news for Drudge’s once-preferred candidate and sometimes-host at the White House—a fact that didn’t go unnoticed by the Media Critic-in-Chief.

Interesting insights. I agree that Drudge is thin skinned and never that political and more in celebrities and personalities.
In one interview he said “I go where the stink is”. Thus I can see him posting anti Trump articles since so many have been dissing him What doesn’t make sense is there are few if any articles at his site dissing Biden. If Matt was doing to day to day operation he would be lamblasting those on the Left and Right if they presented an opportunity.
Therefore the obvious conclusion is he is no longer running the site.
Including bathhouses.
Did we suspect he was gay with all the posts on the 80's Georges (Boy and Michael)--but did anyone care about Matt's personal life when he gave us the dirt on the Clintons?!
Matt kicked off the internet news revolution, when most of our fellow Americans were still getting spoon fed by newspapers, radio and tv. Come back, Shane Matt!
Nothing "alleged" about it.
The change is unfathomable except as a change of ownership or management. I expect that a buyer would have extracted a non-compete clause which included some form of penalty for future obstruction of the “good will” built into the business by Drudge.

This is abjectly untrue, Matt disappeared because he is persona non grata.
This article also provides enough direct evidence to investigate Drudge for counterfeit direct ad grifting and CCPA/GDPR violations.
Which may be exactly why DrudgeReport went full Libtard: 'You either let Mountain View control your content or you will be paying a multi-million dollar fine and maybe some prison time' and/or 'We will help your old boyfriends sue your ghey ass'.
The guy stabbed legacy media in the heart with Drudge Manifesto. I mean he named political and mainstream media people by NAME in that book -- people that for some reason we are still freaking dealing with -- and took each single one to task for being fatuous, stupid, censorious Libtards! Close to 3 years here. However I just clicked on it now...

Haven’t visited the Drudge site for more than an yer whereas before would do so several times a day. The guy’s a sell-out. Same fate will befallFax News.
He used to lurk here to steal the Breaking News. I seriously doubt he has signed in since Trump took office.

I have used Drudge as my home page for over 20 years I am now looking for a conservative alternative. Does anyone have any recommendations? I have considered citizens free press but it just doesn’t have it.
