If you refuse to wear a mask in Miami Beach this holiday weekend, you may now face a fine.
Starting on Wednesday until Sunday, the City of Miami Beach will issue citations to people who refuse to wear facial coverings....
Violators who refuse to put on a mask after being offered one will face a $50 fine...
On Wednesday, [Governor] DeSantis extended the executive order [that prohibits cities from collecting mask mandate penalties], but Miami Beach will continue to move forward with enforcement of face coverings in popular commercial areas...
Miami Beach said it’s still moving forward and will collect the fines once the governor’s order expires. It’s a plan other municipalities are keeping a close eye on.

Not sure, but I can tell you that it’s a strike at the Governor, and has little to do with the virus.
I walk to work through my city, about 2 miles, and refuse to wear a mask (aka liberal talisman) and get folks diving into the streets and sneering at me.
I will wear a mask when requested if entering a private place of business, because otherwise I’d be robbing them of the utility of their ownership. However, I just purchased a couple of cloth masks/face coverings, because I read they don’t actually do anything. Joke is on you liberal cowards.
So much mis-information out there right now. I suspect the spike in cases is due to expanded testing and the spike in deaths is because it's flu season. Haven't seen any data on flu deaths.
...so just another form of getting money from tax payers and tourists... NICE ...

Two choices that are fairly easy to breathe through:
1. A blue surgical mask with the two white layers removed. This still looks like a regular mask.
2. A single layer of cheesecloth. I use a border of duct tape and yarn ear loops.
I don’t wear a mask unless a store employee specifically (and politely) asks it, or unless I have to go somewhere like the DMV where I can’t really shop somewhere else.
It’s kind of disheartening seeing about 99% of the other shoppers wearing the snout diaper, though. I don’t see that changing any time soon unless there is some sort of lawsuit protection enacted for businesses.
It’s time to remove the local officials from office. They have no law, they have no authority.
Someone on radio yesterday got me thinking about what the word "cases" really means. Possibilities: # positve tests, # people with positive tests, # of people exhibiting symptoms, # people with severe symptoms, # people under doctor's care, etc. etc. By sliding the definition one way or the other, one could easily manipulate the number

This whole damn thing is a hoax. 95% of the people had pre-existing co-morbidities? This is nothing but a summer flu.
Yet we've got people walking around, not even walking, running, biking, driving, with a surgical mask improperly on? Just a liberal talisman.

One year ago, I’d have laughed at anybody who told me that this many people would put up with this amount of interference in their lives, on such a flimsy excuse, and continue to tolerate (and even embrace) all the crap for so long.
Sorry, but I don’t think this would have happened in the America of 50 years ago. Perhaps I’m wrong.
