CHINA is upping the stakes in the South China Sea region with the deployment of a massive amphibious assault vehicle capable of carrying almost 1,000 troops - with analysts suggesting it significantly enhanced Beijing's military power in the disputed waterway.
The South China Sea, which China claims sovereignty of 90 percent of, is regarded as a potential major flashpoint with the West, with Beijing having fortified numerous islands there. The report, published on the website of the Centre for Strategic and International Studies, was written by Matthew Funaiole, a Senior Fellow with the think tank's China Power Project, and Joseph Bermudez Jr, Senior Fellow for Imagery Analysis.
The pictures show the Type 075 in the waters near Wuchuan on November 3 and moored at Yulin Naval Base on November 12.
Subsequent images date November 17 indicate it had been joined by a support group of at least five vessels.

PACOM are already on record saying they question whether the U.S. can successfully counter Chinese aggression in the Pacific. They are also concerned about China’s ability to successfully attack and quickly take out Guam, which would give them control of Asia.
At this point we are so weak we are no match to China in the Pacific. China massively overpowers the U.S. They can quickly take out our forces with ballistic missiles, for which we have no defense. This largely comes from Obama letting military preparedness in the Pacific deteriorate throughout his 8 years.

No American President would or could engage in battle with China over China’s province of Taiwan. It is unthinkable.
No, the Chinese are very patient. They will wait until Biden capitulates on all their demands. Then gain more strength, wait for Biden to weaken Taiwan, then invade, or maybe just threaten to get even more capitulation from Biden.
I think a couple Bunker Busters dropped on 3 gorges dam, might just keep China busy for the next 25 years just burying the dead, and while they may defeat Taiwan, they will pay dearly.
