I would sell to Greece—with a couple of Greek islands as collateral!

(They are broke.)

I agree. Though it has been decades ago—I cannot see such a “purchase” as being anything but a typical graft kickback corruption event here and there. Nor could they be maintained properly or flown properly.

Simply dust collectors and monuments to corruption—

Iran was a collection of miles of western heavy construction equipment and military equipment—all unused. Same likely in Greece.

Huh?? KAL 007 was a Korean Air Lines flight from Anchorage, Alaska to Seoul. It was shot down over Sakhalin Island in the USSR. It was nowhere near Greece.

Where’d Greece get funding for something like this? Did they acquire more extortion money from ze Germans?

No no no. I’m talking about the aftermath. When The Soviets said it was a spy plane we found out who our (diplomatic) friends were. Greece was in their camp. So was India I believe.

Greece is in the EU, right?
So why doesn’t it ask for European jets like Eurofighter, Tornado, Gripen, Mirage?
Probable answer: they did but no sale because Greece is broke.
They want planes AND they want them for free

I think there was already an F-35 sale to Greece in the works - up to twenty planes, including a number that had been built for Turkey before Erdogan pissed off Trump by flaunting his new Russian SAM systems.
