RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Gov. Roy Cooper announced a stricter state-wide mask mandate on Monday that say North Carolinians must wear a mask at home when you have friends or family over to visit as well as wearing a mask at work, at the gym, at the store, and at school.
Cooper said his latest executive order makes it “clear that everyone needs to wear a mask whenever you are with someone you don’t live with.”
“I have a stark warning for North Carolinians today. We are in danger. This is a pivotal moment in our fight against the coronavirus. Our actions now will determine the fate of many,” Cooper said.
According to the executive order, face covering must now be worn while exercising indoors, and outside within six feet on a person who doesn’t live in the same household.
The order also states masks must been worn by patrons at breweries and restaurants while they are sitting at their table, unless actively eating or drinking.
Law enforcement can cite people and businesses who don’t follow the executive order regarding face coverings.
Cooper said wearing a mask is the best way to help slow the spread.
“Everyone needs to wear a mask whenever you are with someone you don’t live with. That means wearing a mask at home when you have friends or family over to visit. It means a mask at work, at the gym, at the store, at school,” said Cooper.
The new executive order also requires businesses with more than 15,000-square feet to have an employee stationed near entrances ensuring mask-wearing and implementing occupancy limits for patrons who enter.

The wife tells me she heard on the radio the Charlotte police won’t be enforcing this.
We’ll see.
I’ve worked with numbers all my adult life. Right around the time that these governors started implementing this crap, the actual case numbers reached what is known as an inflection point. This means that the day to day increase in cases became smaller with each passing day, rather than larger. This doesn’t mean that the actual number is declining (but that’s coming) but rather than today’s number minus yesterday’s is smaller than yesterday’s minus the day before’s for a numerical example suppose you have daily data that goes 100, 120, 160, then 185. The increase for days 2-4 would be 20, 40 then 25. Day 4 would be an inflection point since that day’s increase was less than the previous day.
The significance of this is that if that trend continues, in the next week to two weeks, the actual daily numbers will start to decline. These governors can see the same data I can (or realistically they have people working for them who can see it). They did NOT start any mitigation efforts 2-3 weeks ago when the numbers started to rise. They started when they saw an inflection point.
Why do you suppose that is? They know darn well their actions are ineffective, but they wish to be credited with effectively managing the pandemic. Had they started two weeks ago, there would still be rising case numbers despite their efforts — can’t have that! Nope, they waited until they knew that the numbers would start declining in a week or two anyway, then “took measures” to reduce the cases.
Just a note on my post above: I’m using the 7 day moving average to look at data. There is a variability based on day of the week that gets smoothed out by doing so. The 7 day MA actually declined yesterday, and might do so again today, so the measures are beginning to “work” already.
Just like gun laws.
The ones we have don’t work so they’ll just make more useless laws.
I don’t see very many people at all not wearing masks and keeping their distance.
If it’s still spreading in light of all these measures that people are already complying with, then more of the same isn’t going to change anything.
Is it just me or are these freak out mask mandates and travel restrictions from the left starting to smell like fear of what the evidence of voter fraud will show? The more unhinged these people get, the more fear I see.

Martial law by another name. Idiot state governors are taking cues from the dictators Duterte and Xi.
The Governor can kiss my arse.
I’ll wear a mask outside when the rioters do. Ain’t happening.
If masks worked why is positivity rate rising? If lockdowns worked, why are we doing it again? If it didn’t work the first time, why are we doing more of it?
SCIENCE!
The mask is the American version of the burka.
C’mon down to Georgia. Nobody gives you a hassle about not wearing a mask, most places. Now, if you’re in the big city, where it’s really germy and they’re dropping like flies, yeah, lots of masks.
If any of our Thanksgiving guests feels he or she has to wear a mask in our house, that’s their lookout.
Another D to destroy his state.
Correct.
America Insane Asylum. Try to escape.

These 12 Graphs Show Mask Mandates Do Nothing To Stop COVID
I also wonder if any studies have been done showing the number of false positives in the cases.
Georgia’s are recommendations not mandated.....
Rise up North Carolina. Make this commie bastard swing.
Same with South Carolina. A few places are mask nuts but that’s minimal.
Good luck, Cooper, in trying to enforce that.
I am ready for my “Three Hots and a Cot” on YOUR dime!
Many Governors, almost all of them Rats or RINOs,have issued unconstitutional edicts. When this is all over SCOTUS must weigh in on this general subject...and do so forcefully!
