With more than 19,000 mail-in ballots returned to Broome County this year, there were bound to be a few errors. In those cases, election workers were tasked with curing the ballot.
That means reaching out to the voter and letting them correct the mistake before election commissioners disqualify the ballot.
But not all counties in New York cured ballots until this fall. Governor Andrew Cuomo signed into law a “notice and cure” act in August, after the state saw an unprecedented number of absentee ballots for the June primaries returned with errors and rejected.
Dutko said the law requires boards of elections to notify the voter of their defective ballot within 24 hours of spotting the error and creates one universal process all counties must use to cure ballots. It’s a form that asks voters to submit an affirmation of their mistake.

UNCONSTITUTIONAL - election laws changed by any method other than the state legislature is unconstitutional!! This is an example how it may effect other than the Presidential election - Cuomo does not have the authority to change NYS election law by fiat or executive order! The Party died in the late 1990's. Now Cuomo writes his own election law and the stupid GOP lets him.
I suspect they'll steal this from the Republican.
Doesn't that mean their secret ballot isn't secret? Do only democrat voters get to heal their ballot? Do Trump votes just go in the trash because they are invalid?

NY State was never in play so it’s not on R. Giuliani’s radar.
HOWEVER, Sydney Powell is on track to bring criminal charges of such magnitude that in the years ahead we can expect historical election reform in which NY State will be brought under.

I know, but here is another case where the election rules were changed unconstitutionally - I'll bet this happened in every state - that's massive fraud imho. AND, now we see how it effects down ballot races in the "other" states not being looked at.
You missed the part of the article that says the NYS legislature voted to change the election law in August.

And since this is a statewide mandate, this removes the situation that arose in Pennsylvania, where some counties allowed for curing (mostly Democratic counties) and some counties did not (mostly Republican counties).
NYS GOP is just a subsidiary of the DNC in New York. They should just change their name to DNC lite.
They have the same a$$holes running it for decades now.

· Section 9-209(3) of the Election Law related to curing deficiencies in absentee ballots is modified to the extent necessary to require that a board of elections shall provide a five day cure period for any eligible deficiency instead of seven if such absentee ballot is received after November 3, 2020; and further modified to require that a board of election shall first notify any voter of any eligible deficiency within 24 hours of identifying the deficiency by phone or email, if available and shall only mail such notification to the voter if notice to the voter by phone or email is not possible; and
Under this process, there is no longer a secret ballot...and I can see “inserting” a ballot rather than so called “correcting” being a lot easier with this “method” of deceit.

What ya want to bet the polling people are calling the same number to cure every Biden ballot - the Governor’s office.
“cure” (verb): Physical act of changing a vote to Biden.
This is really a mess, mail in ballots are opening up massive election fraud and we can't even investigate it, sheesh
