This country has gone insane. These people live for Covid. It’s become a religion. Even here, there are people who post a lot of spreadsheet data that is shear BS. They figure the unwashed will believe anything.

We have a mask requirement in Washington State, and have had it for months. (Cases are rising anyway, and a return to a stricter shutdown is coming on Wednesday.)
So when I go into a store, I always have a mask on, but twice I've forgotten to raise it when I went into the store. Both times, almost-panicked young 20-something women IMMEDIATELY directed me to raise it up. This generation of millennials may easily support permanent restrictions on freedom, and permanent surveillance even in our own homes. They live in a state of fear.
It definitely a cult religion.
So many of my countrymen and women are converts.
“Be safe” is like a salute. Similar to “be seeing you” ala The Prisoner.
