A new vaccine that protects against Covid-19 is nearly 95% effective, early data from US company Moderna shows.
The results come hot on the heels of similar results from Pfizer, and add to growing confidence that vaccines can help end the pandemic.
Both companies used a highly innovative and experimental approach to designing their vaccines.
Moderna says it is a "great day" and they plan to apply for approval to use the vaccine in the next few weeks.

The Swedes are an interesting study. Their population in general is quite a bit healthier than ours. They’ve had low COVID-19 case numbers, but high fatalities in the cases occurring. They have just now started clamping down (mandatory restrictions) much harder due to recently rising cases.
A typical flu season kills of a number of people across the board young and old yet we know this only effects those who are elderly and those with underlying conditions so its less than a typical flu
Incorrect. Both Flu and COVID-19 kill few people directly, but both set the stage for other complications to do the killing. That said, COVID-19 seems to have an almost bizarre range of symptoms, which may increase difficulty of treatment in some patients.
both. While there are local variations no one can deny there are thousands of patients hospitalized across the country receiving expensive care most of which would be alleviated by an effective vaccine.
I do not know where they went.
Lonza just makes the vaccine. Moderna would tell them where they wanted to ship it. Probably wherever the US government wanted them to ship it.
Wonder if the shipment ended up in New York?
If you already have covid, you don’t need it, right!?
