Seven people have now tested positive for the coronavirus aboard the first cruise ship to venture into the Caribbean since the beginning of the pandemic in March.
The SeaDream 1 ended its cruise early after multiple passengers tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, according to USA Today.
The outbreak occurred despite strict precautions taken before the cruise. Passengers were required to have two negative COVID-19 tests before boarding the ship and had their temperatures checked daily, according to the cruise lines officials, who also said the ship was sanitized daily.
Now 7 cases onboard as the other half of a couple who tested positive yesterday has also tested positive, tweeted a couple who are on the ship, and chronicle cruises on YouTube. Everyone else has tested negative. Apparently all negative passengers will all be free to leave the ship and travel and fly home tomorrow [Saturday].
The ship, which was carrying 66 crew and 53 passengers, left Barbados last week, but was forced to return there on Wednesday when one passenger became ill with the virus.

Never mind that the test is like flipping a coin.
This was a test. It goes to show that the strictest of precautions still will not prevent the disease from spreading. Let it spread, I guess.
Does anyone know that if you have purchased the cruise medical insurance and you contract Covid while on a cruise - will the cruise medical insurance cover Covid treatment while in another country? Or will Covid not be covered?
“Never mind that the test is like flipping a coin.”
Ain’t that the truth. Just ask Elon Musk.
The tests are obviously too sensitive among other things.
At this point, what difference does it make?
So, what’s the big deal?... I’m sure several people on the cruise also test positive for the common cold, influenza, hepatitis A/B/C/D/E and probably HIV and a case of Ebola thrown in there.
Fear mongering nonsense.
The tests are bogus....

Elon Musk knocks 'extremely bogus' COVID-19 test after taking four tests in one day!

Something extremely bogus is going on. Was tested for covid four times today. Two tests came back negative, two came back positive, Musk said on Twitter. Same machine, same test, same nurse. Rapid antigen test from BD.
Are any of them showing symptoms?
Are they contagious?
Were they tested before the cruise?
Who tested them and why?
Someone is trying to destroy the cruise industry; which will result in the destruction of thousands of dependent business.
The tests are not bogus. They are doing exactly what they were designed to do. They were designed to provide millions of positive results from people who are not infected just before the election. Of course anyone who dies for any reason months after getting a positive result can be counted as a Covid Death. So the "plandemic" can go on and on.
I can’t speak for the cruise’s insurance, but when my mother got sick while traveling a few years ago, the traveler’s insurance she got covered the whole thing.
I’m taking a class on Medical Coding right now. I’m still only in the second week of the class, so I could be interpreting this wrong, but it looks like there is one single code for identifying covid cases. With most conditions, there are many different codes for the different types, severities, complications, etc. But for covid it all gets lumped into one single code.
*If* I’m interpreting that right, it could explain why everyone who tests positive and then dies is getting counted as a covid death. But keep in mind, that’s a big “if”.
It’s the antigen test that is bogus. It’s not the standard test, which is PCR.
The antigen test is from the serology wackos who arrived on the scene to celebrate Sweden doing 100% hands off, despite the Swedish Health Minister telling them over and over Sweden had never been hands off. Distancing was always the rule there as well as limiting capacity, just like everywhere else.
But 7 passengers later testing positive doesn't give me a lot of confidence in the testing.
From a financial standpoint, it makes a huge difference.
Oops.... musta forgot the sarcasm tag.
The Ezekiel Emmanuel cruise line!
Wrong. there are a myriad of ICD 10 codes for covid and the list gets longer daily
You need mental health insurance if you’re thinking about going on a cruise at this time.
