Went to the rally. Had to leave early, but I was there for a lot of it.
LOTS OF PEOPLE! I have no idea what the crowd size was because I never had a vantage point where I could see it all. During the march portion, I was able to get up onto a low wall and the street was packed as far as I could see in both directions.
Helicopter made a few passes over the crowd during the rally/speech/premarch portion of the event.
TONS of Trump flags. Many handmade signs. Tons of Trump t-shirts.
A few Trump signs in the windows of the buildings surrounding Freedom Plaza.
People from ALL OVER. I spoke with several from FL, some from Maine, a few from TX/OK via Maryland.
Black, white, Asian, Latino, Am Indian.
Alex Jones seemed to be holding a counter-rally or competing rally. There was a tiny group on the edge that seemed to have something different going on from the main speeches. People near me said it was AJ. IMO he was trying to make it about him or take control of the rally. No chance. Puny effort. Few paying attention.
During the march portion, I said to a friend “There are some AJ people near us. Let’s move faster and get away from them.” Well, apparently one of them was right in front of me and took exception to that remark. I am pretty sure he was drunk or stoned. Verbally confrontational. We ignored him and moved away.
General attitude of the crowd was VERY upbeat. Supporting our President. Booing CNN, Fox.
2 man media crew came through the crowd. I asked them what station they were from and they looked angry and wouldn’t answer. So probably not one of the good guys!
Beautiful day. Great vibes. Great opportunity to support our President!
