A handful of Republican senators on Tuesday revealed that the vast majority of the Senate GOP caucus has not acknowledged Joe Biden as president-elect out of concern that doing so would damage their prospects in the upcoming Senate runoff elections in Georgia. US-VOTE-TRUMP

US President Donald Trump speaks with Representative Doug Collins (R-GA), Senator Kelly Loeffler ...

KEY FACTS “We need his voters. And he has a tremendous following out there,” Senate Majority Whip John Thune told Politico, adding that while Trump is currently trying to “determine the outcome” of his own election, Senate Republicans “want him helping in Georgia” afterwards.

Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tex.) told Politico Trump has a “vested interest in making sure we keep the majority,” while Sen. Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) said it would “be my hope” Trump campaigns in Georgia, and Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) said he hopes the president is “active” in the race.

Only four Republican senators – Mitt Romney (Utah), Susan Collins (Maine), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Ben Sasse (Neb.) – have publicly congratulated Biden, while at least 17 have publicly refused to acknowledge Biden’s victory.

So they need Trump’s supporters until after the GA Senate race is called? Am I reading this correctly?

They are hoping the president will propel them to victory. In the run off, they need turnout, actual voters to repel the phony democrat votes.

Yes....Trump has only been in “politics” for 4 yrs and has shaken the DC SWAMP to the core... They desperately want to get back to the “good ol’ days” where they can pretend to care about “We the People”......

Yes, If the Senate were secure they'd throw us & Trump under the bus. This should wake folks up, all but the pom-pom Republicans who are a hopeless cause.

Without President Trump stumping for these nobody’s turnout in the runoffs could drop dramatically.

Yeah. They were fine with Trump getting screwed when it looked like they kept the majority. But now that they are in a battle and may well loose suddenly they care.

I hate them all.

Did any of the Democrat senators recognise Trump 2916 victory and congratulate him?

Then what is this BS about the Republican senators have to do the same now.

Trump should give a big middle finger to the Republican establishment who don’t say anything about the cheating done this election and then somehow expect Trump voters to turn up to vote

I’d go golfing if I were Trump. The GOP isn’t going to save what is left of America, only the #MAGA movement will.

Yup...but Trump gets to use that fact as a chip to keep them quiet. Gives him time to fight the battle without being kneecapped. I think this runoff isn’t until January. If they bail before that Trump can bail on them in GA in which case the Rats can win thr Senate, kill thr filibuster and make the Repukes irrelevant in both houses.

Should all Trump supporters therefore boycott the runoff elections in Georgia? That’ll show them!

I don’t know anything about the people running in Georgia, and people can do what they want, but if they are anything like Toomey here in PA I wouldn’t walk across the street for him.

You mean like the GOP Senate did in the special election for Sessions’ seat with Obamacare repeal in the balance? How did that work out? What’s good for the goose...

In one breath GOP Senators give support for Haspel’s coupist activities at CIA while in the next breath they say Trump must support us in GA. The arrogance is breathtaking. If a GOP Senator was on fire I would not give them Little Marco’s bottle of water.

“ Trump should give a big middle finger to the Republican establishment who don’t say anything about the cheating done this election and then somehow expect Trump voters to turn up to vote”
——————
For all of you who hate these weak-kneed, self-interested, hypocrites: I hate them, too. But...

...abandoning the 2 GA Senate candidates (one of whom, Loeffler, has been a vociferous Trump supporter) is INCREDIBLY self-centered and, frankly, stupid. You want to let Schumer become the Majority leader, then realize what it means:

1. The filibuster will be gone during the first week.
2. With the filibuster gone, now ANY proposed bill will get passed - starting with court packing.
3. Then gun confiscation.
4, Then admitting DC and PR to the union (4 new Dem Senators).
5. Then legalizing 20 million or more illegals and having them become citizens before 2022.
6. Nothing will EVER be done about election fraud.

In short, if the Dems get the Senate, with Biden in the WH and while holding the House, then nothing will ever be the same - there will NEVER be another Republican President, House or Senate. We will be California nationwide, with Republicans existing but having all the influence and importance of one’s appendix.

This election was ALWAYS about more than Trump, the Republican Party and certainly more than all of our pet peeves and personal feelings about the majority of shitbags in DC (and many DO support Trump, regardless of what’s been stated in this thread) - and the ONLY reason that 2016 wasn’t the year we became California (or the USSR) is because Trump won. Trump himself has always understood that, which is why he ran in the first place - literally to save this country. That is why he will campaign for those two candidates in GA regardless of anything or anyone else.

I respectfully suggest that all of you follow Trump’s lead, or we will have list our nation forever.

I am from Texas and I am deeply concerned that Senator Cornyn (who I just voted to reelect) is missing in action. He is not supporting President Trump. I called his office and spoke to a staffer. My son called and received the same stupid message. Senator Cornyn is WAITING to see if THEY OR THEM find proof of election fraud. I told the staffer that I thought THEY were all Republicans and were on the same side. I am disgusted with Republians who are RINOs and only want my vote every 6 or 2 years. Speak up Cornyn! Find some courage or admit you are just another Romney.

What’s “self centered” is GOP Senators continuing to support the coup and then asking for Trump’s support. What’s “self centered” is the GOP Senate running for years on Obamacare repeal and then supporting a progressive Democrat in Alabama because they didn’t like the GOP nom.

This nation is already lost because there is no opposition party to the progressive-corportist alliance. The GOP is rotten at its core and unreformable. They are popping champaign corks at the thought of another amnesty and Corker-Obama Iran deal.

Two GA Senate seats change absolutely nothing about the trajectory of this country after a stolen election and Democrats in control of the executive branch.

Why should party loyalty be a one way street? How about we let the coupist GOP Senate go into Fulton County and get their votes? Deal?

GOP Senators need to get together and de-certify the DNC with the FEC before the runoff.
