A Trump administration appointee is refusing to sign a letter allowing President-elect Joe Bidens transition team to formally begin its work this week, in another sign the incumbent president has not acknowledged Bidens victory and could disrupt the transfer of power.
The administrator of the General Services Administration, the low-profile agency in charge of federal buildings, has a little-known role when a new president is elected: to sign paperwork officially turning over millions of dollars, as well as giving access to government officials, office space and equipment authorized for the taxpayer-funded transition teams of the winner.
It amounts to a formal declaration by the federal government, outside of the media, of the winner of the presidential race.
But by Sunday evening, almost 36 hours after media outlets projected Biden as the winner, GSA Administrator Emily Murphy had written no such letter. And the Trump administration, in keeping with the presidents failure to concede the election, has no immediate plans to sign one. This could lead to the first transition delay in modern history, except in 2000, when the Supreme Court decided a recount dispute between Al Gore and George W. Bush in December.
An ascertainment has not yet been made, Pamela Pennington, a spokeswoman for GSA, said in an email, and its Administrator will continue to abide by, and fulfill, all requirements under the law.
The GSA statement left experts on federal transitions to wonder when the White House expects the handoff from one administration to the next to begin when the president has exhausted his legal avenues to fight the results, or the formal vote of the electoral college on Dec. 14? There are 74 days, as of Sunday, until the Biden inauguration on Jan. 20...

It took three (3) morons to write this, shows you how really dumb people get hired at the Bezo Post.
The Republicans in the house should start grandstanding , lay the boots to Pelosi. Draw up articles if Biden”wins” the election.Get the details of Biden’s criminal activity into the
Congressional record.
If the Dems can make up evidence , and fabricate fraudulent testimony against a sitting {resident, surely the house Republicans can bring truth to the record.
The Dems have been waging war in Congress for 4 years, now they need a dose of their own medicine. And that medicine is the truth.
Yes, everything is a mere formality on the quest for power.
I teach a class for people who are preparing to take the U.S. citizenship test. There is a question on the application for citizenship— “Do you support the Constitution of the United States?” I ask them what that means and they are really not sure. I tell them it means we respect and live by the Constitution and the laws of the land, and that we respect and support the rights of our fellow citizens that are guaranteed by the Constitution.
One big problem we have is that there are too many Americans — both in and out of government — who don’t get that part. What counts is that their side wins, no matter the cost.
biden is president Press Presumptive Nothing mor>>>>>>
He is not even that.
Biden has been anointed KING of the USA by the press.
ALL HAIL KING BIDEN.( sarc.)

If we are back to playing Monarchy games in America, then let the grape shot fly FRiend!
I like alos. If the states are unable to certify their vote thay cannot appoint electors and so it goes to Congress with legislative delegates from the states.
We’re to allow Biden the keys to the nation due to the fact the media told us he won? How ridiculous is that?
SloJo has the patience of his former boss, BO, who wished to change his address once he became POTUS-elect. He, too, was denied access when wishing to move into the Blair House prematurely.
Trump should just say to Biden that he can do his transition privately, and Trump if declared the loser will vacate the White House at noon on January 20. Then Biden can spend a few weeks trying to move in.
Excellent comment on the “me, me, me” powerseekers and moral/ethical corruption that goes with it.
Instead of “First we shoot all the lawyers, let’s change it to first we shoot all the politicians”.
