How embarrassing. At first I thought Eta meant estimated time of arrival

I just completed my 2nd hurricane clean-up for the year. I had to hire a guy with a high-rise bucket to remove some large broken limbs hanging over my house. I've been threatening to cut them for a while anyway.

Glad to be done for this year.

"Hurricane Mitch sank the flagship of the Windjammer Barefoot Sailing fleet off the coast of Honduras."

Sad ending though, all 31 crewmembers were killed in the hurricane.

Here in Western Panama, it rained for some 20 hours yesterday and is raining again today although not as hard. The sun actually emerged for about ten minutes.

My sister lives near Foley, AL and my brother in Pensacola, FL. They share your dismay.

Yes, very bad flooding and landslides.

Get ready for another wave of refugees, as happened the last time this occurred a couple of decades ago.

Looking more like a WestPac typhoon:

now the pink are even more symmetrical around the eye

I suspect it’s at 165 MPH when recon gets there at 915mb

and maybe even stronger by the time it leaves

Just missed the CAT 5 monster Rolly that tore through Quezon Province.

So far nothing in Cebu, but we are only on ‘S’ now. The big ones start with ‘T’ or later, like Yolonda or Wilma...

Glad to be done for this year.

That's a good attitude. Except that 2020 isn't over yet.

Hard to say where this thing will wind up and what will be left of it after being on land for so long.

Only one model seems to give a chance of hitting Louisiana. In 2020, that can only mean one thing...
