Historically, at least since 1789, revolutions like the one we are facing are put down by the armed forces of the state or they prevail.

The idea of Trump calling out “patriots” is romantic nonsense. The revolutionaries are organized, armed, and trained and to win, they just have to collapse the government.

They will be beaten by organized armed forces or they will prevail. And the indicators about whose side the US military is on are mixed and frankly not very encouraging.

Quite a few instances in The Bible where Israel enemies are gathered together in battle only to be utterly destroyed in some miraculous fashion.

I don’t think Trump is going to play tiddywinks with seditionists in our streets. If they want violence our military should entry the fray with rules of engagement equal to their aggressors then we will see how long they want to play.

Indeed. In my view the Long March has infiltrated the Officer Corps with college graduates who hold questionable political views; perhaps now even at the flag level.
