'People just lie': Trump's hidden vote in question
The Washington Times ^ | November 01, 2020 | Seth McLaughlin

President Trump’s rallies, pandemic or no pandemic, continue to attract boisterous, energetic crowds — supporters who represent just the tip of an ignored majority that the president says will deliver a second term this week.

Democratic nominee Joseph R. Biden, meanwhile, draws smaller and quieter crowds, often to drive-in rallies where supporters are socially distanced and voice their approval with car horns.

He says crowd size doesn’t matter because there is a quarantined majority of Americans who are eager to oust Mr. Trump and are more likely to heed the advice of health officials about wearing masks and avoiding large gatherings to protect against COVID-19.

Polling suggests Mr. Biden is correct.

Most national surveys show Mr. Biden running away with the election, though a few suggest a closer race, similar to the one in 2016 when Mr. Trump lost the popular vote but won the White House after maximizing support in key Rust Belt states.

Now, with some of Mr. Trump’s crowds topping 10,000 — even as COVID-19 resurges — analysts are pondering whether Trump lightning might strike twice.

The president certainly thinks so.

He insisted at a recent rally that crowd size was a good barometer for voter turnout, and that’s bad news for Mr. Biden.

“They say the fact that he has nobody at all show up is because of COVID,” Mr. Trump said. “No, it’s because nobody shows up. And I think that’s the ultimate poll.”

Brian Klein, who has been selling Trump flags, hats and shirts at the Hillside Flea Market in Shepherd, Michigan, told The Washington Times in September that some Trump backers are still reluctant to air their preference.

“I have people who will buy stuff from me, but they

I can just hear Obama now criticizing Trump supporters as a bunch of liars.

“My experience is the Trump voter will not only tell you he is for Trump, but he will also tell you why, and he will insult you if you are not for Trump,” said Thomas Rath, a veteran Republican operative in New Hampshire who has already voted for Mr. Biden. “They are not shy. There is an in-your-face quality of it.”

Anyone here agree with this?

While there are some loudmouth types, on both sides of our politics, I think there are far more silent Trump supporters, than loudmouth Trump supporters, given our cancel culture atmosphere the left has pushed on us.

I know someone who lied to a pollster.

Strangers calling you up asking your political views? Could be Antifa or some other leftist operation.

Plus, confusion and disinformation = weapon.

If they have no clue where they stand, Dems will burn money in states where they have no chance.

Rush should have encouraged people to lie to pollsters as an Operation Choas.

Yeah, that’s believable.

Biden says crowd size doesn’t matter because they have millions of fraudulent votes to make up the difference.

Fixed the first line of the third paragraph.

“Polling suggests Mr. Biden is correct.”

Non-stop COVID-panic in the so-called “Press” to make supposedly plausible polling suggesting that people are afraid.

It’s interesting that the solid lock on the Media enjoyed by the Left CAN’T make their candidates popular. They know it, so they don’t even try.

This is the best they can do, make the non-existent support for Biden look “explainable”. They can’t even stop the rock-star Trump rallies, that appear to put the lie to their “polling”.

More projecting. I know plenty of closeted Trump voters, but no one is louder about their politics than Never Trump Republicans.

If you’re a liberal from Seattle, Portland, Kenosha, etc and you’ve had enough of the riots, then you’re not going to tell your circle of friends that you voted Trump.

“Thomas Rath” - surely the same guy:

21 Aug: CTV: Biden speech evokes Layton’s message of hope, days before 9th anniversary of former NDP leader’s death
by Sarah Turnbull
OTTAWA —Joe Biden delivered a message of hope and optimism Thursday evening during his acceptance speech as the Democratic presidential nominee, and at the same time evoked memories of a letter written nine years ago by the late NDP Leader Jack Layton, days before his death.

In his highly anticipated remarks during the finale of the four-day Democratic convention, Biden reflected “For Love is more powerful than hate. Hope is more powerful than fear. Light is more powerful than dark. This is our moment. This is our mission.”
While he wasn’t met with applause, given the crowd-less realities of giving a virtual speech in a pandemic, social media reaction and news headlines Friday morning show the former vice president exceeded expectations, even among some conservatives...

***Republican strategist Thomas Rath told CTV News Channel on Friday that Biden hit an emotional chord with Americans – getting personal as opposed to focusing on heavy policy pillars.
“What Biden is really good at is identifying the emotional state of the population and addressing it,” he said. “He was the most restrained and disciplined I’ve ever seen him.”

Cahaly (Trafalgar)

What we’re seeing is a movement toward Trump with late breakers. We are also seeing folks that had initially given every indication they were going to support Biden or they were undecided moving towards Trump and the issue we see it moving on is shutdowns. Even young people who identify that they don’t like the President they like shutdowns even less. And suburban women who say they have problems with the President they like their children at home and shutdowns even less.

First of all I think the new Iowa poll what we have been saying all along. Iowa was not a real battleground state. Joni Ernst was not ever really in trouble. I never bought into any of that.

Now in Pennsylvania it’s rather interesting. I keep hearing that the President is down in Pennsylvania because the Democrats have voted more than Republicans. Well look at Pennsylvania’s registration. It’s registration is so out weighed Democrat by Republicans. If there weren’t Democrats voting for Donald Trump he wouldn’t have won Pennsylvania the first time. So you can’t just assume because Democrats are voting that they’re not voting for Donald Trump because they did 4 years ago.

Asking who your neighbor is voting for indicates shy Trump support? I think it can, it’s a projection device and there is lots of other ways it is done...now we are employing those this year. You know we are living in a day and age where people are being shamed; they’re being canceled. A lot of folks just aren’t interested in expressing a political, controversial at that, a political believe on the telephone to someone they don’t know

What we found in the African American vote is it is absolutely moving towards Trump. And as some of those voters before were shy voters before; they’re not so shy anymore and led by strong people like Herschel Walker, folks in the black community who have endorsed....not to mention the information provided in the debate where all of a sudden so many people heard all of the things Trump had done for this community, These guys are thinking; making their own decisions and not going to be take advantage of or for granted and who can blame them. It’s a strong move. I think it is going to make a difference.

There are not just "shy" Trump voters who hide their support for Trump, but also subversive Trump voters who falsely tell pollsters that they favor Biden. The pollsters have no reliable method of correcting for them or for high nonresponse rates.

He has a little bit of a logic problem.

"My experience is the Trump voter will not only tell you he is for Trump ..."

His experience is logically limited only to Trump voters who would tell him. It's a tautology.

23 Jul 2010: Sea Coast Online: GOP strategist Rath charged with DWI
By Elizabeth Dinan
PORTSMOUTH — Republican strategist and former New Hampshire Attorney General Thomas Rath was arrested Wednesday on a charge alleging he was driving while intoxicated...
Rath, a veteran GOP operative, was appointed by President George H. W. Bush to serve as director of the Legal Services Corporation. Rath’s biography on his law firm’s Web site also cites service as a delegate to the last seven Republican National Conventions and reports he is “widely respected as a political analyst at both the state and national level and he appears regularly on national, regional and state television newsmaker programs.”...

According to his Web site, Rath served as a senior national advisor to the presidential campaigns of Howard Baker, Robert Dole, Lamar Alexander, Mitt Romney and George W. Bush. He was the Republican Party National Committeeman for New Hampshire from 1996 to 2000 and from 2002 to 2007...
