Former Vice President Joe Biden doubled down on his calls to ban assault weapons and high capacity magazines and to institute other gun controls on the final Sunday of his 2020 presidential campaign.
Bidens campaign wrote on his officialvTwitter account: As president, Ill ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, implement universal background checks, and enact other common-sense reforms to end our gun violence epidemic.
Breitbart News reported that Bidens proposals not only contain a ban on the future manufacture of AR-15s and other firearms the Democrats label assault weapons but also a provision that could require every AR-15 rifle to be registered under the National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA). Unless there was some form of carve-out, this could mandate that American gun owners pay a $200 federal tax for each AR-15 that they own.
Other gun proposals being pushed by Biden include:
- A provision that could ban online sales of ammunition, guns, and gun parts.
-A pledge to revive the Social Security gun ban, which targeted benefit recipients who needed help managing their finances. The ban was adopted during the last full month of the Obama presidency and repealed during the first full month of the Trump presidency.
- A provision that would limit Americans a one-gun-a-month purchase maximum. The Biden campaign website says, Biden supports legislation restricting the number of firearms an individual may purchase per month to one.
- A push to incentivize states to license would-be gun owners. Bidens campaign website says, Biden will enact legislation to give states and local governments grants to require individuals to obtain a license prior to purchasing a gun.

Give it your shot, demento.
I am waiting for the moment where Joe tells the audience that if elected, he’ll propose a law to ban cancer.
Nice.
I disagree, these tyrants are power hungry and citizens possessing firearms keeps them from their ultimate totalitarian wet dream.
I pray you are not correct, but you could be.
The old Progressives were patient and were careful to only push as much as they thought the people would accept.
The newer bunch are impatient and power-mad, driven by the perceived need to "save the planet" in the next decade.
You’re not wrong, but they want them much faster than that. What you’re talking about started in the 30s. They want their utopia, and now. That’s why the globe is such a mess, they are pushing so hard.
How’s that going in Washington?
Oh, he does this, he will get the guns, just not the way he thinks. Asshole thinks the whole country is Deleware.
Yes, Sir.
He already told a “crowd” that he doesn’t need their vote to be elected.
Washington state?
Yep
Question. if someone owns only one AR-15, if they have just four standard capacity magazines, they would owe the federal government $1,000. Is the $200 tax per unit annual?
Why bother even asking questions about blatantly Unconstitutional ideas.
Tell them to F off.
That is the correct answer.
Ex post facto is indeed ILLEGAL.
Use the proceeds to allow 51% of the voting public to live at the other 49%s expense.
His supporters have their reasons.
Not in red states.
Everyone needs to remember that the BATTLE OF ATHENS started over ballots in a LOCAL election.
And many sherrifs wont enforce. This is a very big country.
The west side of both states are infested with the scourge of liberal politics and the large population centers.
My state of Washington has one of the dumbest democrat governors in it's history. The state legislature in Olympia is dominated by the 'rat party and each session they continue to usurp gun rights little by little.
They've tried to outlaw 'assault weapons' and 'large capacity' magazines but most of these get killed in committee because even democrats want to keep their jobs.
Here in the East part of the state we're all for the most part patriotic gun owners and even our LEO's refuse to enforce the myriad of inane gun laws that come out of Olympia.
It's sad that the state is so divided because we once were a great conservative state until the advent of Microsoft here which brought thousands of hitechers from California and elsewhere and they brought their failed liberal politics with them.
Then came Starbucks and Amazon and the rest is the history of a once great state being ruined, perhaps beyond repair.
*Sigh*
