An American hostage has been rescued in West Africa by SEAL Team 6 in a daring raid, Fox News has learned.
The elite SEAL Team 6 staged a daring raid in the West African country of Nigeria, rescuing Philip Walton, 27, who had been taken hostage, officials told Fox News.
“We had to get him before any potential trade or sale,” one U.S. official said.
President Donald Trump tweeted out a show of support, calling the operation a "big win" for the elite force, and promised further details.
Walton was kidnapped in Niger, which borders Nigeria, earlier this week. The hostage rescue took place in northern Nigeria earlier today.
The SEALs rescued Walton after killing a number of his captors. SEAL Team 6 was chosen for the operation because they are responsible for West Africa, Fox News has learned.
“U.S. forces conducted a hostage rescue operation during the early hours of 31 October in Northern Nigeria to recover an American citizen held hostage by a group of armed men," Jonathan Hoffman, chief Pentagon spokesman, said in a statement.
"This American citizen is safe and is now in the care of the U.S. Department of State. No U.S military personnel were injured during the operation."

This guy was napped from his backyard. He has been living there with his wife and daughter. Don’t know why the heck he decided it is a great place to live or what his occupation or what side businesses he might be.

I just got back from my last “pre-election” trip to Seattle to get the last gun and some ammo from my mother after my father’s passing a few months ago. a nice Mossberg 930.
It’s the only one I want to use to fire the 500 rounds of slugs and 800 rounds of buckshot I got the previous trip. I picked up some more 30.06 that would fit in the case for the airplane trip back.
On a side note, I learned it is actually vary easy to transport guns and ammo on commercial airliners, if you just do some simple research. In fact, each airline has their own web page outlining what you have to do. Great!
But there is nothing left for my wife and I to do before election day. We’re hoping this is a big nothing and the left fizzles, but just in case, not only are we ready, but all the progeny and siblings know this (and my sister’s place in Montana) are available if their urban environments become too caustic.

After what happened to SEAL TEAM 6 last time, they shoukd NEVER have revealed that this was SEAL TEAM 6!! Thanks FOX for nothing....especially saying that they are responsible for West Africa!!

Can you imagine being the kidnapped guy, in the midst of a group of armed thugs, and the SEALS come barging in (early morning hours)? Probably first thoughts, if flash bangs, etc. were going off .... what fresh hell is this .... and then you hear American voices and realize it’s the SEALS and they are there for YOU. Got to be the best, most ‘awesome’ feeling.
Then I contrast that with the Americans on the roof in Benghazi - calling for help, no one comes, and at some point you realize help is not coming & you’ve been abandoned & what a horrible feeling that must be. Omuslim, Hilly, & anyone else involved in leaving our guys to die should be hung (literally).
