Another very simple reason, no matter which way it appears to be going on election night, there is NO WAY we will have clear results, at least not when the lawsuits start flying.
Many states will still be counting ballots days after Election Day. So it makes sense not to have any celebrations until thats all done.
I think the liklihood of rioting is the best explanation. It’s also something they probably don’t want to advertise as their reason.
Uh, let’s also remember where this reporting is coming from.
You are correct. Mayor Bowser wont do anything.
He’ll be working closely with the police, national guard etc.
It will be sort of like ... ‘Where were you when the lights went out?’
I hope that’s the reason. Remember Hillary cancelling her fireworks many here thought that was a sign she was in trouble.
Trumps going to need to manage the rioting from the WH anyway.
Yes, I think that’s it. SS probably doesn’t want him there for security reasons. They’ve got viable info that Antifa is going to hit DC hard on election night.
Last time DJT and family didn’t come to the party until early morning the next day anyway.
I don’t like this. It reminds me of Hitlery cancelling her fireworks three days before the 2016 election.I hope there’s another reasoning for this.
Security. Bad idea to be anywhere else but a fortress with a bunker in his case.
Trump needs to work that night. He will have to mobilize the National Guard, 101st, 82nd and 10th divisions.
It was great fun sitting with the swells but a long night as it wasn't called until 3AM.
Exactly.. First thought was.. Security concerns. .
He and the family will be safer holed-up in the White House than in a hotel. Who knows what Mattis, Brennan, Clapper, etc., have in mind?
My thoughts exactly. It won’t be safe with all the rioting going on.
So what is new. These anti American thugs did the same thing 4 years ago:

The post-election backlash against democratically chosen President-elect Donald Trump continued over the weekend, with rioters shutting down streets in cities across the country, while demonstrators mourned the Trump victory in public events at college campuses, high schools, and in at least one elementary school in Manhattan.
One 7-year-old child who voted Trump in a school mock election was thrown out of his house by his irate mother.
In Portland, Oregon, riots again shut down parts of the city on Saturday, with demonstrators shutting down several streets. The Portland Police Department reported that the rioters targeted police with road flares and in several cases, assaulted civilians. [ ]
In Washington D.C., roughly 150 people protested outside of the newly opened Trump Hotel in the capital. One participant at the event targeted the soon-to-be First Lady Melania Trump, holding up an unprecedented sign reading Rape Melania. It is not known if police removed the sign.

Biden has scheduled a gala event in his basement, inviting all his friend.
I wonder why they scheduled it in the first place. They had to know if Trump appeared to be the winner on Election night (although not called) that there would be rioting.
He doesn’t want the hotel burned down.
