The event scheduled for Tuesday night at his Trump International Hotel was billed as THE Trump campaign's celebration of winning 4 more years in the White House, and POTUS would be in attendance. An email invite to the bash screamed, "It will be absolutely EPIC, and the only thing that could make it better is having YOU there." Very Trump-esque.
However, the Prez is now opting to watch the poll results pour in from the White House ... according to the New York Times.

It is not, because there is no....popular....vote. Period. There is 50 (+ DC) individual states’ votes.

Technically not true. Although unlikely Trump would lose GA in that scenario, if he does and Biden also wins MN, WI, the two extras in NE and ME, and PA, it ends up being Biden 280 - Trump 258. Now, I don’t think that will happen but just noting it wouldn’t be enough.

To have someone say they expect Trump to win the EV with Biden winning the PV by 4% seems unlikely. Possible, but unlikely, and certainly doesn't bode well for the house races.

The President is chosen by Electors appointed by the State Legislatures, by whatever methods they choose.
A "national popular vote" would require much, much more than NBC "declaring" a winner.
There is no national voter qualification. There is no national elections board. There's no national ballot. There is no entity empowered to (or qualified to) compile and certify a result.
Parties can wait. Remember “The Gambler” (”there’ll be time enough for counting, when the deal is done)
What it is.... is NONE of our business. Which is the point— the security of the Chief Executive is paramount for law and order in the entire country. The attendees at any party would be at risk— key people for the levers of power, from any branch and even potentially (think about this)—opposition elements with bad intent (or mission) within them.
Trump’s security exceeds, of course, the Secret Service. The President’s Own and such. Take a deep breath and understand that there are those who are, shall we say, steady under fire.Command leadership, deputized. Antifa, should it act in violence and destruction against our Country— will be dispatched with judicial and Constitutional authority.
Well, if Trump loses and right sits and does nothing, we're done. Maybe the right would be better off rioting under such a scenario.
Polls mean nothing. The only poll that counts is the final count.

Trump is going along not making waves. He went along with the new strict guidelines in his latest MN rally. The biggest concern he has is how the suburban women vote and now is not the time to be making waves.
You forget, if Trump were to lose, the riots start immediately but he's still president for 2 1/2 more months, until Jan 20th 2021.
He can dispense with these Leftist anarchists because at that point he has nothing to lose.
Don’t believe the polls! They are skewed. The true polls are the thousands upon thousands of energized Americans coming out in droves to support this president.
Let me say it this way. Trump received 306 electoral votes in 2016. 270 needed to win. He hasn’t lost his base. Trump will receive 306 and more.

True, but when you account for the fact that these polls are meaningless garbage, it is not disappointing at all - just totally irrelevant.
Whether the polls say he is up, down, gaining, tanking - whatever... they provide exactly zero information about what is happening.
