What are Pritzker and Democrats really telling Illinois taxpayers?

Illinois is still the “shut up and take it” state.

You might want to ask what are the lockdown Democrats who control Illinois, Cook County, Chicago and many suburbs really telling us?

They endorse the catch-and-release prosecutor of Cook County, who fancies herself a social justice warrior while allowing violent offenders out on the streets.

They make their coronavirus shutdown decrees, craft their tax-and-spend-and-never-cut budgets. They push their “fair tax” and that cheap 6 mph over the limit traffic camera Chicago speed trap to grab your cash.

Pritzker keeps pushing his progressive “fair tax,” which he his fellow Democrats sell as an income tax squeeze on only the rich. But if it passes, it will give politicians free rein to reach down and grab the middle class by the throat. Trust us, we won’t do it, they say.

The Illinois legislature hasn’t passed a truly balanced budget in more than a decade and has skipped pension payments. Springfield lawmakers did approve a renovation project for the state Capitol that included $670,000 copper-plated doors and $3,300 urinal covers made of stone.

Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas found that homeowners and business property owners have seen property tax bills skyrocket by 99% over the past two decades, far surpassing inflation (36%) and wage growth (57%).

Pappas worries that taxpayers won’t be able to pay their bills.

Pritzker was busy lecturing Illinois on how to stay healthy, shutting down restaurants while relying on questionable COVID-19 data that fails to link surge to restaurants.

He’s killing thousands of small businesses and hundreds of thousands of jobs of nonbillionaires, like independent restaurant and bar owners, servers, busboys, dishwashers, cooks and bartenders.

Pritzker is a one-way street, with no hint that he’s willing to compromise or understand that restaurants can stay open safely with reasonable precautions.

Either the voters are stupid or the elections are fixed.

I just circled this date on the calendar - I actually agree with Kass. He is right about Putzker. The Circus Elephant Governor is a dictator.

I feel pity for the people in outstate IL. Held hostage by the clueless a-holes in Chicago. Actually Illinois is the perfect example of what the country would be without the Electoral College. NY is another one.

300 lb governor unilaterally shutting our state down while dictating my choices to protect my families health wellbeing. He claims to follow the science as he restricts out options and ignores his own slovenly ways racing towards heart disease and diabetes.

I suspect a combination of both might be the reality there.

Many of the local elections are fixed. Democratic incumbents run unopposed in gerrymandered districts.

Less than eight years ago, Illinois had a majority Republican Congressional delegation and one US Senator.

Chicago and East St. Louis nullify the remainder of the state.
Trump won 90 of 102 counties, but the metropolitan areas tipped the balance.
