After Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker on Wednesday announced that new coronavirus restrictions will go into effect in the city of Chicago, Mayor Lori Lightfoot called on the governor to reconsider, saying she is concerned that the new mitigations could have dire consequences for already struggling businesses.
I'm not sure that we're reaching the right people with the restrictions that are going to be imposed by the state and that's my concern, she said.
Speaking on PBS NewsHour, Lightfoot said she was very concerned about the new regulations, warning they could have a massive impact on businesses in the city that are struggling amid the pandemic

Yeah. She could care less about the businesses. It’s the tax revenue she is worried about.
Just a few days ago Lightfoot was calling for even stronger restrictions, basically going back to total lockdown.
Actions have consequences.
I heard that also. threating to go back to phase 1 and now her tune is changing.
They shook her until some capitalism fell out
Illinois is facing a $4.1 billion budget shortfall and potentially a junk credit rating.
Fat boy and man suit are begging the feds for a 40 billion dollar bailout to include the state and chicago.
Thats not good
She didn’t have that much in her to begin with
I think that a potential federal bailout is at the heart of all this Covid hysteria. These blue states have been so underwater for years, due to gross fiscal mismanagement. States like New York and Illinois see this as an opportunity to clean up their messes. Then they can start all over.
When will the rest of Illinois pull away from Chicago and their B$ governor?
Cook county and Chicago run the state. Without those two state is red. Its disgusting. People in Chicago are sheep that wear masks walking down the street. Orange man is bad and its his fault Chicago and IL are dying. Lightfoot and fat boy take no blame. They are doing their best to keep the citizens “safe” and business closing is the virus fault not their actions. It is screwed up.
Again - This has nothing to do with Covid!!! Putzker the Circus Elephant Governor is losing his “Fair Tax” vote in the Collar Counties [outside of Cook] - He thinks the lockdown will keep voters home and his Tax Bill will win.
Lighthead has already destroyed Chicago business for 2021 with her announcement that McCormick place will be closed to all events for the entire year.
Thats exactly whats happening! The corrupt, bankrupt blue states are holding out for a payday from the Feds.
When did she say that? Close it down for another year? What a moron.

Here are some numbers Groot is using to shut down Chicago:
48 confirmed Covid patients are on ventilators. (10 unconfirmed aka “PUI” Patient under investigation. But let’s not count those since they apparently haven’t tested positive.)
So out of 2,059 ventilators available. That’s 3%.
126 ICU beds in use by Covid confirmed patients
Out of 1,275 ICU beds available. That’s 10%
And these ridiculously tiny numbers - not anywhere near overwhelming the system - are what Groot and her staff are using to justify shutting down an already dying economy.
Where do these numbers come from?

The system isn’t anywhere near being overwhelmed. This is just another step in the scam.
We changed planes at Chicago Midway yesterday. 2/3 of the food and travel shops in the airport are shut down. Collectivists sure know how to kill things.
Thanks for the info.
My wife has a ton of wonderful conservative relatives from 100 miles wsw of Chicago to the Ill/Missouri border/river.
Apparently there is a very conservative group pushing for separation in Illinois.
We have the same problem in California with Gay Frisco/Marin, Sillycon Valley, Sacramento and LA ruling this state. This is a lot of strong interest in becoming 2 states here.
It is insane. I would never go on a plane right now. I can’t sit there for hours with a mask and I do not need to be contact traced.
