Its not even Election Day, and as far as the Republican Party is concerned, one race is over.
Republican David Tolletts Democratic challenger Jimmie Lee Wilson has been disqualified to run, due to past convictions concerning federal farm loan use. This clears the path for Tollett to step into the District 12 seat in Phillips County.
Democrats say they will seek an appeal.
Tollett is the first Republican to take District 12 since Reconstruction.

At this stage of the game, hell, yeah! I’m beyond caring how we get seats, just that we do.
Arkansas is AR, AK is Alaska
AK should read AR for Arkansas. But some good news to start off the final week (I hope) of the 2020 election.
(AK) is ALASKA, not Arkansas, which is AR.
🤗
I was confused for a moment. Didn’t think there was a lot of Reconstruction in Alaska.
I was wondering. I didnt figure that Russians were voting in American elections during Reconstruction.
They nominated the guy. If you can intentionally or through incompetent vetting, nominate a guy that's not legally eligible, and then there's no harm no foul if it's discovered at a late date, there's no disincentive to do so. In fact, you might do it on purpose. Nominate a ringer, the opponent shoots his wad running against that guy, then substitute a replacement at the last minute. No thanks.
This is for an Arkansas State house seat. Not Federal.
Still every win counts.
Once again, Republicans leading the way by having a seat in the Tsarist Russia’s Duma. Even before Sec State Seward bought Alaska from the Tsar in March 1867.
Gonna look right at home in Congress.
He won’t even have to wear a different uniform.
Bwa ha ha ha ha...
Oh drat! Thanks for the mention.
Thank you.
He was talking about the Pipeline Reconstruction? Lol.
Democrats say they will seek an appeal.
Huh? Wha..?
It’s a state seat. Arkansas doesn’t have 12 US House districts.
I know the district.
It’s in the Delta centered around Helena. Heavily Democrat and heavily black and pretty poor.
Helena is the home of King Biscuit Time, the longest running daily radio broadcast in American history. Lots of blues music. It’s also the burial place of Confederate General Pat Cleburne.
