Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah), one of President Trumps most outspoken critics, says he will vote for Judge Amy Coney Barrett to be confirmed to the Supreme Court.
Romney, who was the only Republican senator to vote to convict Trump on an article of impeachment in February, praised Barrett on Thursday, calling her impressive and exceptionally well qualified.
After meeting with Judge Barrett and carefully reviewing her record and her testimony, I intend to vote in favor of her confirmation to the Supreme Court, he said in a statement. I am confident that she will faithfully apply the law and our Constitution, impartially and regardless of policy preferences.
Proving that even the biggest RINO is better than a Democrat.
7 kids, devout Christian, pretty and petite, soft spoken but brilliant. She has got to be VERY popular with Romney’s voters. He could probably vote against most of Trump’s picks, but ACB would be tough. As much as they hate Trump, I suspect the Church Elders pulled Willard aside and said, “not this time”. They desperately need Justices that will defend religion if they want to survive.
Bingo, that is what I thought also. His phone lines must be burning up.
Well, some of their nominees don’t deserve a vote.
Still, our party’s players aren’t the brightest bulbs in the box.
Or he knows he’ll be toast in Utah if he votes against a pro-life SCOTUS nominee, assuming he wants to run again when he’s 77.
That was my first thought too...
There must be something about ACB that I don’t know and I don’t like, if Myth is for a yes vote.
OTOH, Myth is just confused, and ACB is everything I want on the SCOTUS.
Very Caucasian of him.
...And I am a drunk...
I think we get all 53 of the Republican votes and maybe one dem.
This. Exactly.
They would skewer him in Utah if he voted against Barrett.
“The senator who was a Mormon”?
Romney low-life POS.
No, I really think some people have dysfunctional personalities and he has one. Strange huh?
Never doubted this snake would vote no
The hag and Collins no
The wheel spun and landed on red. Good, this is way too important to screw around.
If they ask for a show of hands someone Goose Collins
Good.
It’s his duty, to my mind.
Getting her on the court will be fantastic.
Lol - it gives the Dems a clear cut guideline to determine who they don’t want. Handy!
