Judge Barrett Is An Intelligent, Independent Woman and It’s Driving Democrats Crazy
Townhall.com ^ | October 15, 2020 | Jake Hoffman

Posted on 10/15/2020 8:04:31 AM PDT by Kaslin

The second day of the confirmation meetings for Judge Amy Coney Barrett to become a justice of the U.S. Supreme Court had a moment to remember. Senator Cornyn (R-Texas) observed that he and his Senate colleagues had voluminous binders, meticulously prepared by staffers, to use while questioning Judge Barrett. Cornyn asked her what she had on the note pad in front of her. With a smile, she held up an empty pad with only the letterhead of the U.S. Senate on it.

It was obvious to anyone watching that Judge Barrett was more than a match for all of the senators on the Judiciary Committee and their staff. Using just her own wits, she has been able to respond with class and dignity to every question. Which made one of the lines of attack used by Democrats on the committee all the more puzzling.

Even on day three of the hearings, they continued to question her as if she were a clone of her mentor Justice Scalia. Although she several times pointed out that she is an independent person and will arrive at her own conclusions, Democrats continued to make it seem like she was incapable of her own thoughts.

Democrats seem to believe that anyone who admires and respects their mentor will never diverge from them. In that case what are we to make of President Bill Clinton, who so admired his mentor Senator William Fulbright (D-AR), who was a Dixiecrat and favored segregation, that he gave the eulogy at Fulbright’s funeral? Fulbright was one of only nineteen U.S. Senators who signed the Southern Manifesto, a document of Constitutional principles meant to oppose the Brown v. Board of Education ruling that mandated desegregation of public schools. By Democrats logic this would make Bill Clinton in favor of segregation.

An intelligent, well-educated woman who disagrees with Democrat ideology, in their world, must have an explanation. Which may be why we see an attempt by Democrats to cast Judge Barrett as the unwitting padawan of the evil conservative Justice Scalia, who somehow turned her to the Dark Side. But this is not a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

This is reality here and now. Once again, Democrats’ patronizing attitude towards women and minorities that do not agree with them is exposed. It appears that in Democrats’ minds, women and minorities are incapable of independent thought, should that thought disagree with left-wing orthodoxy. Remember Joe Biden’s “You ain’t Black” remark? The condescension is striking, especially when directed towards a legal scholar whose empty note pad shows she is impressively qualified.

The submission lives loudly within Democrats—submission to an ideology that precludes independent thought. An ideology that is at the root of Cancel Culture and uses fear to enforce it. Judge Barrett is respectful but not afraid of these Senators. She is intelligent but not condescending to those who disagree with her.  Most of all, she is a representation of all that is great about our nation, both at its founding and today. That should be an inspiration to us all.

Kind of like Sarah Palin. The feminists HATE women like that.

hilarious re Hirono to Barrett:

14 Oct: Washington Examiner: Tucker Carlson says Mazie Hirono is ‘America’s dumbest senator’
by Anthony Leonardi
“So the world is falling apart. China is taking over the world. The American economy is in shambles. And there’s a presidential election in three weeks,” Carlson said Wednesday. “But luckily, America’s dumbest senator, Mazie Hirono of Hawaii, is upset about the right things — the term ‘sexual preference.’ It’s a slur. As it turns out, she didn’t know that herself until some left-wing Twitter personality made that discovery yesterday morning.”

Carlson then showed images of the Merriam-Webster dictionary updating its definition of “preference” following Hirono’s remarks to label “sexual preference” as an offensive term. He also showed clips of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg using the term.

Barrett doesn’t let Democrats bully her. She stands resolutely on facts, principles and personal integrity. She refuses to suffer baseless attacks against her character.

I wish Republicans had that same kind of resolve and willingness to stand their ground. But they never will.

One of the features of a Leftist Narrative is that it is not falsifiable, although you can make it more and more obviously absurd. At that point, they just shift to a new Narrative.

The DIMs are your typical nitwits. They have an inability to be embarrassed. What absolute malignancies these DIM senators are. Their staff of societal misfits and rejects are not far behind.

It is time to vote this out of committee and to floor. Confirm today. Get it out of the way and start dragging Dorsey, Zuckerber, et.al. in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Trump is a republican.

People want him to stop talking. But republicans. Voters. I never understand it. It’s screwy. People want to fight corruption and bad lawmaking but they want it done politely. If they need a good lawyer or an excellent surgeon, do they demand politeness?

These democrat senators dont associate with people of integrity with women of integrity. They are in a bubble, an ecosystem with guardrails whatever that is, paraphrasing prince stompyfoot, they dont know what to do with someone who does not need their approval.

It’s been posted all over Facebook this morning that as a mother of seven, Barrett is accustomed to answering stupid questions.

Trump is a republican.

***************

I would argue that he’s not. When you think about it he doesn’t really have much in common with the feckless and corrupt GOP. Trump has been critical of, and has alluded to the weakness of, the GOP on more than one occasion. Its no accident; he’s merely stating the obvious.

My fervent wish is that Trump will lay the foundations for a new party soon. The GOP will never represent us the way he does.

We cannot win with a party that does not want to.

I would wager that the questions from her children are far more thoughtful and sincere than anything she will ever hear on the floor of the U.S. Senate.

My point was that Trump is standing up to these people and he gets a lot of crap for it.

He is a republican. if you saw the Convention you saw the emergence of a Republican Party devoid of rinos. No need to start a new party.

Don’t be fooled. The GOP has been deceiving its voters for decades. And will continue to do so. Reagan couldn’t fundamentally change the party, and neither will Trump.

The DNA and culture of the party is one of weakness and appeasement. The creature is what it is.

Barrett makes liberal heads explode because she solidly refutes their standing stereotype of conservative, white Republican women. Therefore, she will be written off as an abnormality, an exception to their rule.

Barrett is writing the playbook for how conservatives should deal with liberals. Will we follow her lead and stand our ground against these bullies? Time will tell.

I worked around lots of liberals. Like bullies everywhere, the only thing they understand is fearless pushback and dismissal by people who are stronger willed than they are.

We now know why Trump was saving Amy Barrett for the RBG nomination. He needed to save his best for this one.

While there are recognizable RINOs within the party, they have a lot of sympathizers and enablers in the GOP. For example, it was the GOP controlled House allowed Paul Ryan to effectively retire in place and thwart Trump’s agenda and many investigations into his tormenters.

The point is, the GOP writ large is much more of a problem than many are willing acknowledge. RINOs are a visible symptom but the problems of weakness and appeasement are far deeper seated than that. The party tolerates the wayward RINOs a bit too much — which tells you a lot about the party as a whole.
