Heres what is indisputable: ratings for the NFL are down, in some cases to an ugly degree. Thursday Night Football (NFL Network) was down an astounding 70 percent from last year, but that comes with a huge caveat: last years game aired on NFL Network and Fox. Broadcast TV always jacks up ratings, and itll do the same thing when TNF returns to Fox later this season.
Still: only 5.41 million watched the Denver Broncos and the New York Jets play last Thursday.
Sunday Night Football (NBC) took a steep dive, falling 37 percent in viewership from last year. The matchup was substandard a winless Philadelphia versus an injury-ravaged San Francisco even if the game ended up being fairly decent. If theres a worrying sign for the NFL, its Sunday night.
The CBS doubleheader also saw sharp declines due in large part to the shifting of Patriots-Chiefs to Monday night. A primo matchup vanished from the slate, and that sent the early game (primarily Chargers-Bucs) tumbling 32 percent to 9.95 million viewers, and the late game (Buffalo-Las Vegas) down 6 percent to 18.61 million viewers.

Which was Cousin Oliver on? In actuality I never watched the Brady Bunch except the movie. And have to say I went through the room while the Love Boat was on (I admit it) .
Nothing, absolutely nothing, is forever!
I used to like to watch the Saints, or Cowboys. Not anymore, and the truth is, since I have gotten out of the habit, I do not intend to restart watching. No way I am going to sit thru 3 hours of frigging commercial to see some idiots taking a knee for some dead ni66er drug dealer. You might as well take a knee for Al Capone or Bonnie and Clyde.
I mean think about. How come black people don’t get the inflation boost out of their homes? Drug dealers and violence. Same with nearly every other problem they have. And they want to take a knee for Poor Dead Pookie and RayRay???
I am not sure if this or Hollywood not making movies story is hurting me worst. Just horrible. NOT.
Many people don’t even watch regular TV anymore. They watch YouTube, Amazon Prime, or Netflix.
The few audience members remaining for the NFL and NBA have been totally turned off by the kneeling and disrespect for our nation. No surprise the ratings are in the tank.
the stupid middle aged white guys would still fill the stadiums...maybe boooo between miller lites
Go woke, go broke.
Another example is the cable channels canceling pro-cop shows and seeing ratings and revenue crash.
A lot of those games are on in sports bars, airports and other businesses which will jack up the ratings right there.
NFL and NBA have been off in our home for over two years and not missed.
Bears vs. Bucs, 10/08/2020 = Thursday this week
Yep - and I have watched a single play/free throw/at bat with the “major” sports.
Still watch golf though.
A man who is a faithful husband, loving father, hardworking provider, who serves his country when called, is far more masculine than some goober who can catch a football.
Now that’s what I’m talking about!
