Iran's Health Ministry said on Monday nearly the whole country was on a coronavirus red alert as cases and deaths rose to record levels, with a member of the state task force's warning field hospitals might be needed if people flout the rules.
Ministry spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari told state television that 26 of Iran's 31 provinces were "red" zones, the highest alert level, while four were at the next "orange" level.
Authorities registered a record high 3,902 new cases in the past 24 hours, with the total number of identified cases in the worst-hit country in the Middle East rising to 475,674, Lari said.
She said 235 patients had died in the past 24 hours, equaling a daily death toll high set on July 28, bringing the total death toll to 27,192...
On Saturday, schools, libraries, mosques and other public institutions in the capital Tehran closed for a week as part of measures to stem the rapid rise in COVID-19 cases...
Because of coronavirus concerns, Iran has banned flights to Iraq to block trips by Iranians to the neighboring country for the annual pilgrimage of Arbaeen, which draws large crowds. Land borders to Iraq have also been closed.

Ok, fair enough. Not trying to be an asshole, but the 6% death rate is simply inaccurate. The WHO (yes I know they suck but even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every now and then) has listed the IFR at 0.13%

According to the media, all Wuhan/CCP virus deaths can be blamed on President Trump no matter where they occur.
Maybe the Iranian Regime is exaggerating the seriousness of its COVID-19 situation with its population, to use it as a scapegoat for the crashing economy.

But unfortunately, the article goes on with an even creepier example:
"Abbas Tabrizian, a cleric who is considered the “father of Islamic medicine” by his followers in Iran, had said in the early days of the coronavirus outbreak in the country that “inserting velvet oil into the anus” can cure the virus."
It always comes back around to inserting things in the anus, for some of those clerics.

Yeah, but most of those people dead are their leadership class, which isn’t all that large. This is why they are panicking.
I completely agree regarding the ambiguity and accuracy of the data. As you noticed, that 6% was simply the quotient of the “current” case data. I certainly wasn’t speaking to the validity of the data.

On a side note, how come cop shows were pulled because sensitive people could be "hurt" by the actions of the police officers, but the stupid shows about zombies and the living dead were not pulled?
