Trump declares ‘I get it,’ then briefly leaves hospital (AP trashes President's short trip to greet supporters)

BETHESDA, Md. — President Donald Trump declared, “I get it,” in a message to the nation Sunday evening before briefly leaving the hospital to salute cheering supporters from his motorcade, a surprising move that raised new questions about the president’s understanding of the coronavirus that has killed more than 209,000 Americans.

“It’s been a very interesting journey. I learned a lot about COVID,” Trump said, standing in his hospital room in a video posted on social media. “I learned it by really going to school.” He added, “I get it, and I understand it.”

Before the video was posted, the infected president cruised by supporters in his bulletproof SUV, windows rolled up, driven by Secret Service agents in protective gear who were potentially exposed to the disease that has swept through the White House in recent days.

“This is insanity,” tweeted Dr. James P. Phillips, an attending physician at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where Trump has been hospitalized since Friday evening. “Every single person in the vehicle during that completely unnecessary presidential ‘drive-by’ just now has to be quarantined for 14 days. They might get sick. They may die,” the doctor wrote. “For political theater. Commanded by Trump to put their lives at risk for theater.”

“coronavirus that has killed more than 209,000 Americans.”

No.

The “virus” only killed 9,000.

The other 200k were from comorbidities (heart disease, cancer, etc), motorcycle accidents, overdoses, and a dozen other reasons.

Look. They already said he may go home tomorrow. The same people who took him out today will take him out tomorrow. What’s the big deal?

Yep, those SUV windows are great conductors of Coronavirus. I’m sure he made that entire support rally sick with those Coronoavirus-carrying SUV windows!

So, Doc, did they have a gun to their heads, or did they willingly support Trump in his effort to go see his supporters through the Woo Floo transmitting SUV windows?

Biden is sniffling today. If he gets it, he will blame the President.

Smoking Joe,

You posted: “Did Air Force people pilot the helicopter from the White House?”

Please note that US Marine Corps is responsible for the helicopter squadron that flies the President; thus the pilots of Marine One are Marines and not members of the Air Force. The Air Force provides jet aircraft support.

Please warn us what the link is about before we click it. I had to turn it off immediately. (Two of my least favorite people in the whole world - and I don’t care what they have to say.)

Okay.
But whoever piloted the helicopter was in theory exposed. Nobody is ever in quarantine by themselves unless you build a wall round some island and dump all sick people there with no doctors nurses food or any attendants.
How did Chris "Let's take a little trip to the Hamptons” Cuomo do with his quarantine?

I’m not sure how much a Doc’s signature would figure into things.

I remember one time in 2008, I drove Mom to a hospital in Towson (MD) so she could get a stent. She was kept overnight for observation, so I came back the next day to get her. We sat there in her room for about an hour waiting for the doc to discharge her, but nobody came, so we finally left and went home. No consequences, as far as I could tell.
