President Trump's White House physician, Navy Commander Dr. Sean Conley, reports that Trump is being treated with a Regeneron polyclonal antibody cocktail and has been taking zinc, vitamin D, famotidine, melatonin and a daily aspirin.

Just this Tuesday, George D. Yancopoulos, M.D., Ph.D., President and Chief Scientific Officer of Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. stated about the still in test phase new polyclonal antibody cocktail:

“An emergency hospitalization???”

Based on the type of treatment, this is as much a preventative treatment as anything. My guess from the description of the drug (and as reported in numerous places), this is a treatment primarily for those diagnosed early (or even cases that have not been diagnosed)

See the description below.

FROM THIS SITE: https://bit.ly/36teBha
“Regeneron REGN-COV2 is an investigational dual antibody cocktail for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 disease. REGN-COV2 comprises monoclonal antibodies (REGN10933 and REGN10987) and was designed to block the infectivity of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.”

As for why the hospital, this drug in a phase III trial and has not received final FDA approval. Most trials require very close monitoring and usually brief hospitalization.

I am sure praying for our President, but I don’t believe it is serious from the above.

CNN now blathering on and on how Trump’s infection is his fault. I didn’t realize that COVID infections are the fault of patients until now.

New Medication Given Trump Appears to be For Patients Who Have “Not Mounted Their Own Effective Immune Response”

Doesn’t mean much given the state of regulatory affairs and the FDA. To develop a new drug you basically have to find an open niche that is not currently served, or prove that your drug is better than current therapies. Doesn’t mean the antibody cocktail isn’t effective on patients who do have an immune response. It just means that Regeneron didn’t want to try to compete in the field of other therapeutics because that would mean, in essence, proving that their injection was better on the overall population than other regimens many of which have months of a head start in testing and development.

And given that 95% of people over age 70 (and like 99.x% under 70 years) survive the disease anyway, it’s a very high bar to prove.

Interesting tidbit from Wash Exam that the media may not want widely known.

“The second reporter who tested positive last was at the White House on Saturday before acting as the out-of-town travel pool on Saturday for the president’s trip to Middletown, Pennsylvania, for a campaign event. This reporter started showing symptoms of the virus on Thursday.”

Yes, a reporter was covering the President despite having symptoms days earlier!

Wonder how she snuck past the screening...

CNN is the ugly little monster that doesn’t know how ugly it is. Trump will be OK and then win the presidency for a second time by big numbers.

Obviously not an emergency to get him to WR. My guess he delayed going till AFTER market closed knowing that and aware such a move would have caused a huge sell off. Man is a great patriot.

He’s the POTUS. We should all want him to get the best care possible. Nothing really unusual about a POTUS going to WR for treatment. Senators and Congresscritters go there all the time, too. Where did Biden get his arterial stents placed?

“I would like to know the antiviral effects of famotidine and melatonin respectively.”

Melatonin is an anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidative that could prevent a cytokine storm that sometimes happens with the Whu Flu .

Famotidine, Pepcid, also help blocks the cytokine storm.

I am thankful he waited and gave me time to bail.

Monday could be a bloodbath or it could rise like nothing is going on in the world.
If there is no indication that his condition in worsening the market may shrug this off.

He’ll be fine.

Glad he is at the hospital.

Famotidine is a histamine-2 receptor antagonist. The authors noted the mechanism by which famotidine might improve COVID-19 outcomes is currently unknown, but hypothesized it might work via “inverse-agonism” of the histamine-2 receptor, which implies SARS-CoV-2 is “at least partially mediated by pathological histamine release,” the authors said.

Pres. Trump is going to recover and then go on to win a 2nd term just to piss off CNN.

That may be but I sold everything so as not to get my head handed to me Monday morning despite my inclination that Boeing is going to break through a barrier on a Pelosi deal.

Bought it this morning on the dip, made my money, and got the hell out.

The headline is outright misleading. No, it's worse than that, it's FAKE. The company's press release said "The greatest improvements were seen in patients who hadn't ALREADY mounted a natural response to the infection..." In other words, early. As in before you have developed neutralizing antibodies yourself. Trump likely was diagnosed very early, so is probably a near ideal candidate (pun intended) for this drug.

Fauci sponsored the gain-of-function experiment at the Wuhan lab that resulted in the pandemic.

Funny how the MSM has shown complete disinterest in investigating that story.
