President Donald Trump said early Friday that he and first lady Melania Trump have tested positive for the coronavirus, a stunning announcement that plunges the country deeper into uncertainty just a month before the presidential election.
Trump, who has spent much of the year downplaying the threat of a virus that has killed more than 205,000 Americans, said he and Mrs. Trump were quarantining. The White House physician said the president is expected to continue carrying out his duties “without disruption” while recovering.
Still, Trump’s diagnosis was sure to have a destabilizing effect in Washington and around the world, raising questions about how far the virus had spread through the highest levels of the U.S. government. Hours before Trump announced he had contracted the virus, the White House said a top aide who had traveled with him during the week had tested positive.
Trump was last seen by reporters returning to the White House on Thursday evening and did not appear visibly ill. Trump is 74 years old, putting him at higher risk of serious complications from a virus that has infected more than 7 million people nationwide.
Trump’s handling of the pandemic has already been a major flashpoint in his race against Democrat Joe Biden, who spent much of the summer off the campaign trail and at his home in Delaware because of the virus. Biden has since resumed a more active campaign schedule, but with small, socially distanced crowds. He also regularly wears a mask in public, something Trump mocked him for at Tuesday night’s debate.
Trump has consistently played down concerns about being personally vulnerable, even after White House staff and allies were exposed and sickened. Since the coronavirus emerged earlier this year, Trump has refused to abide by basic public health guidelines.

They infected the first family to slow him down, the mask nazis will go after him, the scumedia will be relentless with his selfishness and his new fauci replacement and the opening up of the country. In my opinion Masks can MAKE YOU SICK.
Yes, there are proven cases that masks have made people sick. The one case that I know of the person was made sick from the mask and contracted Legionnaires disease from wearing the mask. The person was treated as if they had COVID but never got better. It was fortunate they tested the person for Legionnaires disease. When they treated it for that, the person recovered fully.
As to the issue of Trump contracting the China plague, it was through Hope Hicks that he contracted this. She was wearing a mask the entire time she was around the President. This is not a denigration of Hope Hicks. She is a great person. Just goes to show that someone with the virus and wearing a mask is still contagious to others.
I’m going to make a prediction.
The next big name to get the virus, will be Jill Biden. She always has a mask on and is so responsible.
I also want numbers on these masked persons who have contracted the virus. It should be part of the data collected.
People need to be able live their lives without “religious zeolots” accusing them of murder, for not wearing a mask.

We have around 250,000 excess deaths as of right now per CDC. I don’t know where you’re getting that we aren’t going to exceed 2019 totals, but unless we discover immortality pills in the next 2 weeks, we absolutely are exceeding 2019 totals by quite a lot.
Democrats fear President Trump’s sanity and clean living. He learned a way with words befitting someone who has long conducted fast moving business and participated in spontaneous conversations on television. Democrats are still dying to believe that there are bad reasons for that way with words. In their deformed minds, all presidents should act like puppet hypnotists while regurgitating scripts.
Pure speculation it was through Hope Hicks. Neither you, nor I can say with any certainty that’s the transmission source. President Trump’s own doctors would only be able to put a percentage on the chances it was through her. President Trump meets a LOT of people and goes to a lot of places.
And yes, a person wearing a mask can still spread the virus. The mask is not a magic item making all others immune. It’s a tool that reduces the risk of spread. If you would have spread the virus to 10 people and you instead spread it to 3, that’s a pretty useful tool to have.
Has any congresscritter gone on record yet that they hope the President and First Lady get well soon? I know the media is praying for Trump’s death.
