A simple majority of registered voters are on board with abolishing the Electoral College for presidential elections in favor of the popular vote.
According to a new Hill-HarrisX poll released Tuesday, 51% of respondents said they would be in favor of weakening the influence of states without dense populations on the outcome of the election, whereas 49% believe it should be kept "to distribute voter power among all 50 states."

Those that think the electoral college should be eliminated can go pound sand. There is no way a constitution amendment will be passed - too many red states stand in the way.

In year 2000 election the Democrat war cry to overturn the Presidential election was “count all ballots!”. Now, 20 years later during the new era of the mail in ballot that can be received and counted after election day, the Democrat war cry to overturn the presidential election will be “count ENOUGH ballots!”

80% of voters could not tell you what the Electoral College is. Half of those believe it is an Ivy League school.

How do I matriculate to the Electoral College, and how much is tuition? We matriculated at birth, tuition paid by our Founding Fathers. We owe it to them to support the Constitution.

And..? Now ask them if they know that would mean 6 months of counting votes and Demorats win every time with voter fraud.

A simple majority of registered voters are on board with abolishing the Electoral College for presidential elections in favor of the popular vote. But that isn't how the Constitution gets amended.

Well that's still a ways off from 66.6% of the house, 66.6% of the Senate, and 75% of the states. But they already knew that didn't they?

Repeal the 17th. The Senate was meant to protect states rights. Per the Electoral College, the states elect the President. And both are there to protect us from democracy.

It makes sense that a simple majority would favor popular vote...eyes rolling...
LOL!!! EXACTLY WHY we don't use it and have an electoral college in the first place.
To: FR33DOM4ME
Im actually amazed they were only able to generate a 2-point deficit for the EC. Im sure Quinnipiac or See-BS would come up with a 25-point or greater deficit.

They think its an actual college where you study elections throughout history. I mean, yeah, why would a taxpayer wanna fund that????
To: FR33DOM4ME
People have no understanding of a constitutional republic and why the founders did not want the popular vote determining the presidency. I suppose these same people think the U.S. Senate is unfair with each state, regardless of size, having two senators?

Stark evidence of why democracy is a bad idea and our founders rejected it. Sooner than later those who seek power above all sink to bribing the mob.

That wording is almost indecipherable.

Of course they do. It’s the same majority that hands the popular vote to Democrats. The idea of the EC is to protect us from a few concentrated centers of population so it doesn’t matter what that “majority” thinks.

You know, they should go do a Facebook poll and send it to all their friends and maybe, just maybe, they will get their wish!
