Republicans press SCOTUS to take up Pennsylvania mail-in voting changes

Pennsylvania state Republicans filed a petition with the Supreme Court Monday evening, pushing the now eight-justice high court to face their first challenge without the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

State GOP members have requested the Supreme Court review and reverse the recent decision by the Pennsylvania high court that granted a three-day extension for mail-in ballots following the close of polls on Nov. 3, The Hill first reported Tuesday.

Traditionally the battleground state required all mail-in ballots to be submitted by the end of day on Election Day.

Now mail-in ballots that are received by 5 p.m. on Nov. 6 will be accepted so long as they are postmarked by 8 p.m. on Nov. 3.

The Republican Party of Pennsylvania (RPP) took issue with Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court ruling that ballots received without postage or an indication of when they were mailed “will be presumed to have been mailed by Election Day,” unless there is proof of submission after the newly established deadline.

“The Court’s judgment … creates a serious likelihood that Pennsylvania’s imminent general election will be tainted by votes that were illegally cast or mailed after Election Day,” said the court filing by the RPP, echoing President Trump’s claims that mail-in voting will result in an increase of fraudulent ballots.

Trump and other members of the GOP have repeatedly claimed that the expected increase in mail-in voting will lead to invalid election results.

Pennsylvania's high court determined that they had the power to grant the new mail-in voting measures as Pennsylvania’s Election Code says that courts have the “authority to provide relief when there is a natural disaster or emergency,” in order to give residents the ability to exercise their right to vote.

Why just PA and not also WI and MI where liberal judges also have assured fraud-ridden Democrat election sweeps?

Not that it matters since the Court will decline anyway, just like it has regarding partisan Democrat gerrymandering illegally imposed by black-robed tyrants in places like PA, VA, NC and FL in recent years.

They just throw up their hands and kick it back to the states. Even if that doesn’t happen this time, we can surely count on Justice Roberts to do the right thing (ha), as usual, if it comes to a vote of the full Court.

In the case of WI it was a Fed hack Judge. In Mi it was lower state court with a rat Judge. The Mi SC is 5-4 Republican court. The Mi GOP should be up there right doing something about this renegade Judge. But no.

Don't have to have valid post office cancellations, or signatures that match the voting records, and they have 3 days to run the laser printers. The most blatantly corrupt decision in PA in years.

Unfortunately, we have to blame both the GOP legislature (who voted to allow mail-in ballots) and the electorate (who failed to vote in Repub PA Supreme Court justices).

I told 2 state reps and a state senator on Monday to just issue a proclamation that the court, in fact, has no standing and for election bureaus to listen only to the legislature, just to see what would happen. It'd be, um, interesting.

The Constitution has an absolute date: the 1st Tuesday of November. Not open for debate unless a Constitutional amendment is the only discussion. SCOTUS should have an 8-0 vote chucking anything other then that date, midnight.

And that is exactly what will happen. And you can be assured that the same will happen to Repub Senators up for reelection.

This will turn out to be a blood bath for Republicans and President Biteme will have a 59-40-1 Dem Senate next year along with a Dem House.

The courts will do nothing to stop it.

So be prepared for 8+ years of Dem rule and probably never again see a Repub/Conservative elected president.

First thing the rats will do next year as Rush said is grant statehood to Washington DC and Puerto Rico (4 new rat Senators), Expand the Supreme Court by 4 or 6 justices, little old Beto O’Rourke will be installed as the new “Gun Czar” and the confiscations will begin in earnest next summer. BLM will get a “seat at the table” at Justice and the “reeducation” of Trump supporters will begin soon afterwards.

They will want revenge and they will get it, and we will see the end of the “Great Experiment” in self government.

We are watching this unfold right in front of us:

1) falsely claim that the head of the Postal Service is having sorting machines removed to impede mail in ballots.

2) get judges in swing states to consider the above and get them to rule that mailed ballots can be counted for weeks after the election, even if they don’t have a postmark.

3) flood the mail with fraudulent ballots once you know the election-day count totals.

The truth is that thousands of letter sorting machines have been taken out of service over the last 20 years, as the USPS now carries far more parcel mail than letter mail. Most of the current removals were in California, which isn’t even a swing state. The rats have used this as a straw man to create a fool-proof method to cheat their way to victory.
