I think one reason liberals lie is because they are living in a narrative, rather than in real life. Thus, anything that does not support their life’s narrative is simply not registering on their consciousness. They aren’t lying. Whatever doesn’t fit the narrative simply isn’t included in their worldview. We all do this to some degree. As an example, it’s one reason a very religious person can support a candidate who wants abortion even though abortion is very much opposed to the religious person’s worldview. The religious person isn’t voting for abortion. He is voting for a candidate who fits in his worldview. That view is edited to make the candidate fit.
If you confront the religious person with the candidate’s introduced abortion bill, it creates a short-circuit and the subject will simply disappear. The more deeply religious and antiabortion the voter is, the more they can’t listen to or respond to anything that is outside their worldview. (It’s deeply disconcerting and if you push it, you will find the religious person you really like will find excuses not to be around you.)
It still is wrong she was turned down because she was Jewish. In fact, that’s even worse.
