Cruz said he doesn’t want to be on the USSC.

Won't happen....Fill a woman's seat with a woman. Amy Barrett AND don't nominate a sitting Senator. Cruz knows that. His feelings won't be hurt.
Believe he was just giving Cruz notice to seek a newbie for his Senate seat.
