Syrian air defenses thwarted an Israeli attack on Aleppo city, Syrian state television said on Friday.
The attack reportedly left seven militia men of the Iraqi Hezbollah dead, and the death toll is expected to rise due to the severity of ensuing causalities, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported.
The organization added that unidentified jets, which Syria suspects to be Israeli, struck Hezbollah targets five km away from Qallat Al-Rahbah on the outskirts of Al-Mayadeen city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

Doesn't sound thwarted to me.
left seven militia men of the Iraqi Hezbollah dead,
Right. sounds like a success to me.
Did the asyrians hire Baghdad Bob?
Syrian anti-air defenses are more sophisticated than any seen in Iraq. They are no joke. The Israeli’s are very good, but they also are wary of these sophisticated missiles.
Sounds like the planes dropped their ordinance and went home
Sounds like your air defense FAILED
Still, the Israelis suffered no casualties - no downed aircraft (nothing mentioned in the article) - and managed to get at least one missile through their defenses and kill a handful of Hezbollah. We don’t really know what the Israeli mission was (maybe testing their defenses), but the term “thwart” does not really apply here.
Maybe Russian
LOL, no, no it doesn’t.....
Reuters....
Israel 7
Bad guys 0
Reuters says it was a failed attack by Israel. Wonder what the ASSpress says?
Ok, fine, perhaps the line was 8 points??
Good start...
“They intercepted all the missiles with their research facilities.”
The S-400 is a serious area SAM system. Combine that with midrange SA-8 and TUNGUSTA and PANTSIR SPAA for close in ADA and you have a serious anti air threat.
94% peaceful.
Yeah, feint one way, slam the real targets... Syria thinks the stopped it...
The headline doesn’t match the story. Hezbollah guys dead. Israeli jets blow them up and go home.
And the Israelis had to cross over a ton of Syrian ground en route to target.

F-35s in use, no warning, reminds me of the F117 bombings t Baghdad and then they fired endless AA into the air. Russian systems are crap.
It's normal for Arab forces and populations to declare victory and even hold celebrations after they are defeated by Israel.
