The attack reportedly left seven militia men of the Iraqi Hezbollah dead, and the death toll is expected to rise due to the severity of ensuing causalities, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported. Doesn't sound thwarted to me.

Syrian anti-air defenses are more sophisticated than any seen in Iraq. They are no joke. The Israeli’s are very good, but they also are wary of these sophisticated missiles.

Confused, I am.
Why would Syria be shooting missiles at Israli aircraft if they were attacking Iraqi Hezbolla troops?
