Trump unveils Supreme Court list, includes Cruz and Cotton
The Hill ^ | 09 09 2020 | Morgan Chalfant and John Kruzel

President Trump on Wednesday announced an updated list of potential nominees to the Supreme Court that included three Republican U.S. senators and his former solicitor general.

Trump announced 20 additional potential nominees that would be added to a list of candidates for the Supreme Court, including Sens. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) and Noel Francisco, who departed as solicitor general in June.

The move represents a bid to shore up his support among conservatives two months from the 2020 presidential election. In remarks at the White House, Trump warned that religious liberty, freedom of speech and the right to bear arms are all at risk if Democrats win the election, asserting that they would appoint “radical” justices to the high court.

“Over the next four years, America’s president will choose hundreds of federal judges and in all likelihood, one, two, three and even four Supreme Court justices,” Trump said in remarks from the Diplomatic Reception Room at the White House.

“The outcome of these decisions will determine whether we hold fast to our nation’s founding principles or whether they are lost forever,” Trump continued.

“It comes from years of trying to set birthers straight.”

How can you do that with a 3rd grade vocabulary?

The supreme court should be made up of constitutional scholars, not lawyers with enough political pull to be made judges.

Not Cotton! He’s needed in the Senate and hopefully president one day!

The problem and question is; if the NBC ever gets before SCOTUS for a definite resolution, can lyin’ Ted be trusted to “follow the Constitution”?

Otherwise,he’d be a great pick.

Could a Senator vote for their own nomination I wonder?

His mother was born in Delaware.
She is a natural born citizen.
Ted was born in Canada to a Cuban father.
Not naturally an American.
The only way one is naturally an American is when one cannot be anything else.

Yes and Cruz secretly supports Cuba. Or is it Canada?

It’s not a myth. He holds dual citizenship by birth just as I do

The USA does NOT acknowledge dual-citizenship. Didn’t you have to choose when you were 18? Obama never confirmed his citizenship, so I’ve heard. But we are talking about Ted Cruz.

How about having a Muslim Palestinian as ruler of Israel? Does that bring the issue home any better?

Certainly enough to work together well.

Trump and Cruz are both big dogs. Big dogs fight and then become a team.

"At the time the phrase was written, the phrase was known. So, no, it was not up to interpretation."

That's true. But it didn't have the meaning you birthers want to give it.

Mark is young enough for consideration,
...................................................................
He’s already 62 years old. You consider that young enough? Give me a 45-50 year old that will stay on the bench for 25-30 years.
*******************************************************************
How about Britt Grant, from the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, who is 42 years old and was confirmed by a vote 52-46. In other words, DemocRATS know her, her record and her constitutional beliefs and therefore really don’t like her and fear her. She could have many decades helping to restore Constitutional law to its original intent. The fact that she’s a mother would also annoy the DemocRATS. She’s not currently on Trump’s list... but she should be.

"In ANY CASE, Ted Cruz is NOT eligible to the office of President which he ran for while KNOWING he was not eligible."

Can we all agree that the reason that our Founders included the "natural born citizen" requirement is to avoid having a President with divided loyalties?

Is there any other possible reason for such a requirement?

How could one then not reasonably question the loyalties of someone whose father was a citizen of another nation?

But the ad was made to discourage people from voting for Trump because his wife posed nude. A pretty dumb ad IMHO. Very trashy and disrespectful to Melania and that’s what caused Trump to lash out. He was furious.

How ‘bout Mark Levin

After his years of broadcasting, I wonder if he could make the switch. Personally, I think his service to the country as a commentator and author, helping the motivated citizens to understand better, are more important to our survival as a nation in the foreseeable future.
