That was a Great night. When I want to laugh, I think about wolf Blitzer whining to John King on his election map white board looking at the districts in PA. It really appeared like King was on the verge of grabbing little wet panties Wolf by the shoulders and shaking him, saying THERE. ARE. NO. MORE. VOTES, WOLF!!!!!

In 1995 our local newspaper was lauded as a huge pioneer in commenting and comment software - and it was! For some reason the liberal newspaper allowed conservative and liberal comments - some great debates happened and much liberal news media was debunked in the comment section, often with links.
I lurked here from close to the beginning because at FreeRepublic often the whole story from many different sources were published in the early days - the source would take it off the net but it stayed pasted into FR. So my first use of FR was to help my newspaper commenting!
In 2000 the newspaper shut down comments a month before the election: Too many Tennesee Mafia stories about Al Gore. Free Republic was exploding with information, though and I began commenting here more.
A year later the newspaper started comments back off and on for another 10 years - it was really pretty good and I always wondered why liberal media allowed us to completely debunk their lies in the comments. When the paper comment board was up, my comments here went down and vice-versa. The newspaper is just a ghost now; many employees laid off and comments haven't been back for 6-7 years. All archived comments were deleted so the disproved stories became "true" again.
FR still going strong. It's great to be able to comment on news of the day.

A “Who’s Who” of Freepers on this thread!
My 20th anniversary is coming on the 29th. I heard about FreeRepublic on Rush’s show and fell in love right away.
Got some good old fashioned smack downs from many of the names here on this thread too. But I’ve learned a lot and my life is better because of Jim, John and the rest.

Stand together here and continue to support Freerepublic, every time there is a fund raising campaign. I have been on here for over 20 years. And I will continue to support and gain new recruits for this great forum, in many social forums.
Thanks to the Robinson’s for keeping it Rolling.

Honored to call myself a member and cannot begin to express my appreciation for this amazing learning/educational site, no home, for conservatives.....THE BEST conservative site, bar none.Somehow I missed this thread originally and so am late to the party. As I read I expected, once caught up, to express my deep appreciation for twenty-two-plus years of stimulation, education and enjoyment--until I saw your comments. They represent exactly my feelings. Well done and thank you! (There is a vanishingly small possibility in the 150 posts I still have to read that someone will top yours, but I'll just ignore it.)

LS, aside from the political role, a significant benefit of FR is the education, learning, and knowledge it both provides to and requires of an active participant.
I will frequently spend 15, 30, 60+ minutes making sure I’m good on what I’m posting about, and, of course, ideas shared here put me into a constant state of questioning, learning, contemplating. For me, it’s not about the news and activism, which I appreciate, it’s about the thinking.
