Isn’t the August congressional recess over? Hopefully this all gets resolved well before the Sept 30 deadline. Nobody wins or benefits, politically or otherwise, from another government shutdown.
Hopefully Nancy negotiates in good faith. Hopefully she doesn’t have to run off to the beauty shop before the deadline, and can stay focused on the task at hand.
The duration of the CR is not clear at this point, but the most likely option is that the government will be funded until December, when Congress would need to return for a lame-duck session to pass another short-term bill to fund the government into 2021.
The sources familiar with the talks said its possible any coronavirus relief deal reached this month could still hitch a ride on the CR but emphasized the items would run on separate tracks.
In this atmosphere of hate and distrust, anything is possible. Democrats would welcome a shutdown if they could be assured blame would fall on Trump and the Republicans. Some Republicans may wish to make a statement about the $3.5 trillion budget deficit the government has already run up and vote against a short-term CR.
Keep the Salon Pressure on her
Pelosi just want him out of her hair.
Heck Trump is polling very well in Minnesota right now AFTER his administration rejected a request from the governor for FEMA funding to rebuild Minneapolis.
PPP is the second biggest scam they’re running, after the Fed shenanigans. And guv funding? With state and local guvs paying full boat for all their employees taking the year off?
Also, zero reason to dump billions on the PO. If 100 million mail-in ballots are gonna cost money, the cheaters cranking them out ought to at least pay for it.
No bill will be passed. Giveaway? Article sayspractical heads will prevail. Like Diogenes searching for an honest man, finding a practical Congress critter is domed.
Silly, not like you could efficiently spend 25 billion dollars to help with the election
Hey! Where’s the funding I need to get a new gas tank on my car?? Come on Nancy, pony up the dough!
If they dont get something done, hundreds of thousands jobs will be lost in mid to late October. Many of these will be airline associated.
The Dems would love that...having unemployment jump before the election.
I doubt we will see much without direct payments to the states to make up tax losses. That will be the code for state bailouts.
I’m shocked Nasty is still Speaker.
They’re never for a “clean” anything.
if Pelosi is being even semi-reasonable, it’s because theirinternal polling is showing that the Dems are totally F**ked, and blaming the Pubs ain’t working ...
The “deal” is that the government will be kept running even while the Dems keep their knee on the throat of Americans needing virus relief.
“Politics ain’t beanbag”. Thousands and thousands of suffering Americans are no problem for the Dems- the media will always hide their role.
