The local school board had just the day before forbidden the pledge of allegiance in school class rooms. Parents chased the school board members and threw water balloons filled with lye and drano at them.

The attacker with the pistol, Grosskreutz, did not have a felony conviction, so he may have been carrying the pistol legally. He may or may not have had a Wisconsin concealed carry permit.

Last I heard was he was a felon. Considering what he said later about wishing he'd kiled Kyle, I thought it fit.
Was there updated information?

I checked out his convictions on the Wisconsin court website.

He had a number of minor run-ins with the law. The most significant offense was a misdemeanor conviction for possession of a firearm while intoxicated.

There was an arrest for burglary, but no conviction which I could find.

A part of that video that really stands out is that after Kyle shot the medic, he moved the rifle to the right where there was another adult approaching. The guy backed off and Kyle moved the rifle back to the left. He had great situational awareness.

For a super young guy he ended up only engaging those who he needed to do to protect to himself. I have massive firearms firearms experience both military and civilian and I honestly think I would have ended taking a bit more extreme action than he did.
