A majority of Americans plans to vote early, either by mail or in person, according to a poll from NBC/SurveyMonkey released Tuesday.
Fifty-two percent of respondents said they intend to vote early, including 19 percent who plan to vote in person and 33 percent who plan to vote by mail. About one in three adults say they plan to vote in person on Election Day.
The poll found a wide partisan gap for voting by mail, with 54 percent of adults identifying as Republican or Republican-leaning intending to vote in person on Election Day. By comparison, 22 percent of Democrats and Democratic-leaning voters said they plan to do the same. Fifty percent of Democrats said they plan to vote by mail, compared to 18 percent of Republicans. Twenty-nine percent of independents intend to vote by mail compared to 20 percent who intend to vote in person on Election Day.
There was no such gap for plans to vote early in person. The same share of Democrats and Republicans, 21 percent, said they intended to cast their ballot in-person and early. Thirteen percent of independents said the same.

Don’t worry the Soros-paid and bought Attorneys General promise to keep your ballot safe before election day.
Dr. John Lott was on Bill Fradys LockNLoad radio show a couple of weeks ago saying that he has no problem with early voting. BIG problem with mail in voting, though.
No other country uses mail in voting because its so easy to cheat.
It seems like a lot of Republicans plan on voting in person even if it’s early. Hopefully the majority are wise to the cheating involved in mailing
I have voted early as I already knew who I was going to vote for and nothing was going to change my mind.
When you see how many early ballots are rejected for various reasons, mostly for not being signed, it doesn’t bother me as much to see how many of those are Democrat votes. But it’s the “late” votes, that come in well after election day that we have to worry about.
To each his own. I’ve voted early for many years now. In
person and don’t have to fight the election day crowd.
I'm not talking about problems with early voting. I don't understand why anyone would want to vote before they have all the facts about a candidate.
If I voted today, what happens if two days before the election I find out my candidate is corrupt to the core?
It seems foolish to me to vote before you have all the facts about your candidate.
And I'm not talking about Trump and Biden. I'm talking about any election.
Why do people feel the need to vote before they have all the facts?
It's like rushing to take a vaccine when it's still being tested and you don't know all the affects.
Personally, Im a news junkie whos always paying attention to current events, and vote pro second amendment every time.
Pretty easy to get the candidates opinions, past and present, on that issue.
If they vote for Biden a month early and then he strokes out the joke will be on them.
I doubt this MOST AMERICANS ARE NOT THAT STUPID.
This will lead to a lopsided Trump lead on election day that will be whittled away as the mail-in and harvested ballots arrive and are counted.
If you don’t know all there is to know 3 weeks before election, you didn’t do adequate research.
1 vote early
2 you maybe in hospital, dead, but your vote counts
3 at funeral on election day out of state
4 avoids long lines
You don’t think it can happen? 2004, GWB/KERRY, hubby and I voted day 1 early voting, 8 days later he died of sudden massive heart attack. He was buried ELECTION DAY. Many out of state relatives who had not voted missed voting.
Heres my take. People that vote early have made up their minds already. They dont want to take a chance on hearing some new piece of evidence that suddenly pops up just before Election Day. It probably wouldnt sway them anyway.
Theres nothing Trump could do that would get me to vote for Biden or any Democrat in this election. As it turns out, Ill be out of town on Election Day, but possibly arriving home in time to go vote in person. That is, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
Im thinking of voting early in person this year, because I want my vote to count. I dont know when theyre allowed to count an early in-person ballot in Indiana. Does it count when mailed in absentee ballots are counted? Ill probably have to look this up.
***To each his own. Ive voted early for many years now. In

I think this is interesting, because ever since they started early voting, there are not very long lines on Election Day. In fact, 4 years ago we tried to do early voting, and there was only one location set up in our county. The lines wound around the place for so long. We thought we could handle waiting for about 30 minutes, but we realized after 15 that we were barely moving. We left and opted to go vote on Election Day. Much better.
“I don’t understand early voting.”
Very technical.
In Chicagoland, the object is to vote early and often.
It gives them more time to cheat. I am voting in person on election day.
Yet, some Fed Judge approved Georgia to allow ballots to be counted up to 3 days after the polls close in November to allow people concerned about COVID to be able to have enough time to vote. The Georgia SOS is appealing. Sp 3 days after polls close they can continue to drop off their ballots. Insane.
Why stop at 3, why not 7, 10 20 days. People can vote early. Why not go for earlier voting extension vs. after the polls close.
So Georgia will watch and see how many fraud ballots they need to produce after polls close.
Here in Illinois for early voting, you feed your ballot into the machine. It records your vote on its memory card and your ballot is dumped into a locked bin. The memory card is locked into the machine. It is illegal to play back the memory card before election day (should be after election day voting is counted). During the primary, our new County Clerk (Dem) played back the early votes the evening before the election. He got caught and was called on it. He said it didn’t make and difference and skated. (I think it was practice for the general election.) If 2/3 or so of the votes are early, The single party election officials will know how many votes they need to manufacture and presto - guess who wins the election.
I’m pretty sure that absentee ballots are counted after election day and early voting. Don’t know about mailed in, they may be dumped in with the absentees,
