At least we still have Freedom from Want -- for now. I wonder when that one will be on the chopping block along with the other three.
Interesting post on this forum, given how much the two freedoms “from” (never listed as protected rights) have been used as justification to curtail the two freedoms “to” (which are clearly protected rights) he listed...
Freedom from want/fear.
Is not real freedom, it is only derived from the other two.
Two are true God-given freedoms, two are phony freedoms.
Freedom is absence of government interference and coercion.
Individuals have the God-given right to be free to speak and worship without government interference and coercion.
So-called “freedom from want and fear” (FDR’s favorites) invite government interference and coercion into one’s life. There is no God-given freedom from want and fear, but trusting God gives and individual victory over and and fear.
No freedom from want?
Have you noticed the food banks with 4 hour waiting lines?
No Freedom to Defend One’s Self?
Some folks in this thread have no idea where these things started, when they were used, and how they are not really part of the constitution.
Its both funny and sad at the same time.

These two are blatant contradictions of the human condition and the fallen nature of the human race. We have to work to eliminate fear and want.
The other two are God-given rights that exist even in times of dire poverty, need and strife.

The elections are coming up and I can see this country going into lockdown again.
I am getting ready for it because it won't go to waste if nothing happens (which I highly doubt) and winter is coming anyways, and I ALWAYS prep for winter.

That’s mostly greed IMO.
There’s a church near our old house that had a food bank and would give away food one day a month.
There were some pretty nice cars in that line.
And with the schools being shut down, I know people who are signed up for free school meals that a school bus delivers on a daily basis. Families that can afford to drop 10K on a trip to Disney with their kids, by their own admission.
I doubt most of those people in that line are truly in want.
I’d hazard a guess they all have cell phones.
Honestly, you need to get off FR once in a while and take a look around.
I bring this stuff because often times you guys live in a bubble and don’t really see what is going on.
You can disagree if you wish. But you cannot ignore it.
I am just as conservative as the rest of you. I would suggest we believe in 99% of the same things. I simply don’t believe in following ANYONE or ANYTHING in lock step. That is as dangerous as being one of the puppets out on the streets.
You on the other hand believe in the party line, every time, in every event.
Thats not a good place to be.
Speech and Worship are freedoms. Want and Fear are not.
People were thinner and used to dress better.
Yup. By definition, MORE government, LESS freedom.
