Shannon Sharpe, co-host of FS1’s Undisputed, has proclaimed that being a black man is the “hardest job [he’s] ever had.”
During the August 28 broadcast of Undisputed, Sharpe, who is reportedly worth 12 million, was discussing NFL executive Troy Vincent’s comments about the boycotts that coursed through professional sports in response to the Jacob Blake shooting.
It brought to Sharpe’s mind how blacks are oppressed in America and how hard it is to be black.
“The hardest job I’ve ever had was being black. Because you don’t get paid for it, it’s a heavy burden to bear and you can’t get good at it because all you’ll ever be is black. And no matter what you become, it’ll always be proceeded by being black,” he said.
“It’s the hardest job in America,” he continued. “Because you don’t get paid for it. And it’s a heavy burden to bear. And you can’t get food at it. Because all you’ll ever be is black.”
By the way, the oppressed Sharpe has an estimated net worth of between $12 and 18 million.

Oh, the tragedy! What can we do to ameliorate his pain? It is an illustration of our time that someone can make such an obviously stupid remark and expect to be believed. We are in trouble.
Who wants to bet Sharp lives in an all white neighborhood and moved there as soon as he could afford to leave the black community? Show a little pride Sharp - move back to black community... make things better by your presence... and dump the endless pity party. YOU Sharpe were NEVER a slave. YOU Sharp NEVER lived in the Jim Crow South... You Sharp have enough money to get counseling.... just do it.
True. He can’t even speak clearly and earns a seven figure income? Yet, he still makes himself out to be a victim.
And, he’s also married to a white woman. He has done everything he to escape being black and around blacks in his personal life.

Since not that many whites qualify for the National Football Liberals, looks like worked out good for him.
So many Black athletes, actors, pols, and individuals that I admire. This guy does not live in my world.

I’m really getting tired of all this. I am of German descent. My grandfather almost lost his business after WWI because of prejudice against Germans. I grew up after WWII at a time when all the men’s magazines felt it was their duty to publish pictures of German concentration camp atrocities. Hence I was occasionally called Hun or Killer. Later in life I had the misfortune of being a white male at a time when the government was pushing corporations to advance minorities. I have been discriminated against on the basis of both gender and race. Heck, I’ve even faced discrimination for not belonging to the favored religion of upper management. The crowning blow was to face age discrimination at the end of my work career. Bad things happen but you have a choice when that happens. You can play the victim, complain and excuse your lot in life on that event or you can decide to work harder and smarter to overcome what previously held you back.
When I want to understand something...I always ask NFL-NBA players as they are so well educated. /LOL
Do I agree with everything Sharpe says here? No. But it isn't the whinefest Joe Callen reports.

It is not very long. It is coasting to a stop.
It is a little harder for football, a little easier for basketball but the best way to solve this ‘problem’ is for MLB players to sit down and talk to the Latinos, who are becoming MILLIONAIRES playing a sport that most of them would play for ‘nothing’, about the hardships of this country.
I kind of think that if MLB had a ‘movement’ like NFL the Latinos would quickly turn against them once ownership cut off the money and negated contracts.
In fact, if all the Blacks & Whites were to go on strike tomorrow, it wouldn’t be long for the Dominican Republic to stock ALL the teams and all the other Baseball playing nations would pitch in.
Maybe this is why MLB isn’t being overwhelmed because the ‘home grown’ players have been talking to the guests and aren’t hearing what they want to hear.
